Not making it for your ADR in time - what happens?

I'm thinking about scheduling a character lunch for our arrival day. If we do not make it in time, do we get charged a cancellation penalty?

Are there deposits made when scheduling ADR's? We are using disney dining.

Some ADR's require a credit card hold, a few you have to pay for in advance. Most of them, there are no penalties for canceling. I think Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus are the only ones that require credit cards. CRT is full payment and Akershus is just a cc hold. They don't charge you until the end of the day on the day you miss it, and it is $10/person. You would need to cancel those in advance to avoid fees.
All the other character dining is fine to miss. They usually weasel you in even if you are way late, in my experience.

I believe Cali Grill is also the same (requires a CC hold). We are really bad about making it on time for a lot of ADRs sad2 but they always work us in. Other than the character meals mentioned above there aren't any cancellation fees or penalties for any other character lunches that I can think of.

If you book ADRs online, you will know automatically because they will ask for a cc. If they don't, you are good to go.

Whether or not you get charged a cancellation fee, you might not be seated if you are late. It happened to us.
