Not just a traditional dinner and a movie, we need more..

Hey, guys I need some help.

I am looking for a nice way of taking a couple out for a good meal and a good time. I've looked into somethings, but nothing has tripped my trigger.

~Dinner~

I'm thinking: a nice, good quality meal - something they will enjoy siting down too - maybe somewhere they can watch fireworks or have nice entertainment (nothing crazy like PI). I want them to have a simi-quiet, romantic meal with the opportunity of haveing something fun and enjoyable to do afterward.
Enjoying sites, enjoying a park (if it's near one)..whatever.

~I've thought of them eating at maybe the Boardwalk for a dinner around 6:30, and then maybe walking over to epcot to watch the lazer show.. Has anyone done this before? Would they have enought time to eat if I got reservations for 6:30? ~

I'll take any suggestions.

- reservations will be for 2 people, I want a sort-of early dinner with the prospect of entertainment within and/or near-by, and I don't really want the tab to be outragious - V&A is out of the question! Can you also give me an estimate on what a dinner meal, with drinks, tip, ect. cost for two people -

Question:
Can I make the dinner reservations now, for december, or will I have to wait till we check in to make them? And if I can make the reservations now do I have to pay or something in advance - I had to do that once..

Do these people have admission to the parks? If so, maybe include an evening celebration with any of the following...

Spoodles or Flying Fish followed by Jellyrolls dueling pianos.

Ohana's at Poly followed by 9pm MK Fireworks and Electric Water Pageant viewed from the beach (This is usually a Saturday night thing, but more often at peak times - check schedules).

If you're feeling casual...
Trails End buffet at Fort Wilderness followed by 8pm sing-along campfire and Disney movie.

Oh, and if you really want to splurge, California Grill booked for sunset time. Book on a MK fireworks night and they can watch from there or take the monorail around to the Poly. If there's a late-night Spectromagic parade book the meal early enough that they can go over and see the parade....
---Actually, Mom and I did this last trip - California Grill, monorail over and saw Spectromagic, took resort launch to Poly for FW which was immediately followed by Floating Electric Pageant. That was a great night.

I'd suggest dinner at the Flying Fish over at the Boardwalk. Then look around there a while, then Epcot for Illuminations.

Or-dinner at California Grill (or Narcoosee's at Grand Floridian) then over to MK via monorail. Or even over to Epcot via monorail.

All 3 of those restaurants should fit the bill w/o breaking the bank.

Why don't you book one of the Candelight Processional Dinner packages at Epcot. That way they could eat in a nice restaurant, see the CP show, then watch Illuminations. That would be a very romantic evening. As a matter of fact - it's what I'm doing.

Take a look at the Flying Fish menu as their menu is not huge and may not appeal to everyone. We had a great meal there but it's not for everyone.

The Boardwalk is really fun in the evening! On your way to watch Illuminations, you can stop and watch the various street performers on the Boardwalk! I think that's a great choice!
