NOT inspired by tipping threads, but instead by my RT44 Limeade: Do you tip at Sonic?

Okay, this is an evil thread. I like Sonic and now I'm wanting one of their milkshakes or some cheese tater tots. Unfortunately, the closest Sonic is in Williamsburg, about an hour away.

I said sometimes, but more often than not I'll tip. The only times I might not tip is when I get a milkshake in the drive thru, and even then I may say "keep the change."

To me it's like a waiter or waitress taking your order and bringing your food to you at someplace like Chili's. I may not tip as much as I would at a full service restaurant, but usually I will.

Of course, the Sonic carhops have to deal with things -- rain, heat, snow, wind, traffic -- that a full service restaurant server doesn't have to.

Yes, I always tip...I don't compute the percentage...just give them $2.

We only get to eat at Sonic on our WDW trips, but we always tip. Usually about the same as others have posted (a couple of bucks or so). I wish they had Sonics here in NY.

We don't always tip, but I'll admit that my first job at 16 was as a carhop at Sonic. I made quite a bit in tips. I didn't even know that tipping was something you did at Sonic until I started working there. A lot of people do tip.

How could you not tip at Sonic when the person ROLLERSKATES to your car? Do your Sonic folks not skate?

Sonic is suddenly a big thing here. We've had one for at least 10 years, but suddenly there are 4.

I like the drinks and DS10 thinks the pineapple milkshake tastes like a Dole Whip.

half the Soncics down here have servers that wear pins that say "no tips" Has anyone else seen that?
