Not having a good Disney day

First of all, I kicked my son's high chair as I was passing by and cracked my second toe. Pretty sure it's more serious than a stub since the pain is getting worse through the afternoon - even after being iced. We're leaving in 4 days, ugh!

And I grabbed the credit card and settled down to order DL tix and character meal vouchers from getaway today and I can't get into their site. Too lazy to call, lol, so hoping putting this into the universe will get the site working for me again. That is the way the universe works, right?

I am so sorry your day has been less than "magical".....

If you have broken or cracked your toe, the most that can be done for it is to "buddy wrap" it - wrap it with medical tape to the toe next to it. Try to keep it elevated as much as possible, take Ibuprofin for swelling, and try to wear loose, comfortable shoes (Crocs are AWESOME if you've got them)

Can you tell I am accident prone and tend to be an expert on broken toes, LOL?

With any luck, you'll be up and around in time for Disney - you may have to take a few more sit-down breaks than usual, but I am sure you'll do fine.

As for the website....just keep trying. Maybe with today being a holiday they are busy??

Kind confused about the character breakfast prices. I was quoted $25.85A, $12.92C for Minnie & Friends when I made the PS and the gat price is more. Guess I should call Disney in case I got bad info.

Thanks, Val! I will wrap the toe with its neighbor and see how it goes. I am sure it'll be fine - just an inconvenience when I am trying to keep us all healthy (ironic too that it happened to me!)

When you were on the phone, you were probably quoted the initial price. Without tax and gratuity. When you add on 18% gratuity and 7.75% tax, it's bound to go up a bit. The voucher prices are probably closer to the actual number than your first quote.

I called and the CM said the price I listed included tax but not gratuity so gat is a slightly better value. Thanks so much for pointing that out!

CRUD! Another problem. Gat is closed ...

It says I have to pay extra for "rush delivery" I thought because they were emailing me the voucher info and I was picking them up at the DL ticket booth, there wasn't any rush and that is why I hadn't ordered before now. Should I just do the regular processing and hope for the best? Anyone order this close to the vacation before (we'll be there June 1)? Did you pay rush charges?

You know, leave it to God to create little things you never think about until you break them.

Then, they are all you can think about because the pain is so intense!!!

Seems like my days are never magical unless I'm at DL! Hope your toe is okay! I once sprained my ankle really bad a few days before a trip. I got lucky that it was okay by the time we left. I was sweating it out that day!

Aww man! What a bummer. I hope your toe feels better. I was so afraid I was going to get sick before leaving for DL, I was taking vitamins and zicam and using lysol wipes and hand sanitizer....I either was healthy to begin with or all that worked!!

We did the Minnie and Friends Bfast last trip and it was a definite highlight. It ended up being cheaper than the GAT price, first of all because it's a buffet, so we tip $1 per person because you even get your own drinks unlike buffets here in Vegas where they atleast bring you your drinks!!

Not sure if you ordered yet but something to consider. Paying RUSH fees may push your costs up over the savings you would get buying from GAT. Also, if you have the Disney Visa or AAA you will get a discount, you just show it when you check in. So, you may want to just pay when you get there depending on the RUSH fees.

It worked out fine in the end. Not until I got to the confirmation page did it reiterate the DL tickets and vouchers are all done electronically. The rush fee applies to hard copy tix for other attractions that get mailed to your house. I have the emailed receipts in hand and everything should be ok.

I planned around that 2 days off EE so I am relieved that it worked out. I won't let it go so long next time!

Toe still achey. Wearing sandals around the house helps!
