Not sure where to put this so mods please move it if needed.

I called Disney to add my flight info for the magical express as I've done for years.

Instead of getting some one in the US as I have for all my previous calls. I got someone who was clearly from India and could not understand me.

One of the things I was very happy about was I could get an American and never once had an issue with a cm on the phone.
 

More like a 3rd world problem.

I can deal with the phone call is it a pain yes but I'm not happy about the Americans who lost there job.

I feel like if you're going to complain about not being able to understand the English of the people on the phone, you should be able to do so with correct English of your own.

If I didn't feel like the person on the phone could understand me, I would ask to speak to someone else instead of complaining about it on a forum where no one can do anything to help you.

My trip has the cast member discount so I cant.

Pretty sure you can do it with a CM discount. You just need the resort reservation number.

Also it is quiet possible you aren't calling India. You could have just got someone who lives here in America and is American and just has a thicker accent then you are use to. Honestly if your call was handled and you were signed up I don't see what the big deal is.
 
The outsourcing thing is a delicate balance. Magical Express is not actually free. The cost is rolled into your resort cost. Is it worth $5 more to you to have an American call center? What if you had the option to "Press 1" for a US call center, or "Press 2" for Indian. But pressing option 1 would cost you $5...

I would pay it.

When I call a call center and get a person who has a very thick accent that I can't understand, I will tell them I can't understand them. I don't say why. It gives them a hint to speak more clearly and slowly. Or I will just pretend I can't hear them and tell them I will call back and hang up and try to get someone else.
 
Well, maybe I've found my next great business idea then!
I know why Disney does it but I like to keep Americans employed.

While others I know hire illegals to keep costs down and profits up.

I charge more but my customers buy from me because I keep Americans employed.

Well, illegals are one thing. Outsourcing is another. For me, certain things are worth buying "American Made", but I also enjoy the savings I can get buying stuff made overseas. Like I said, it's a delicate balance.

That's a great idea I'm going to say next time I can't hear you I need to call back because this has happened to me more than once.
