It's not good, we have snow forecast for everyday from Saturday.

Being a haulage company it's the last thing we needed. :sad2:

I wonder if the council know???????

Bet they don't get the roads gritted in time.

Oh I know its so depressing thinking of the upheaval the snow causes and for you haulage company guys must be a nightmare.

My daughter due to fly here on Thursday and snow forecast for Scotland for then. It was bad enough that I was delayed a couple weeks ago with the snow but she would be really unlucky as she was also snow delayed last January too.:sad2:

Eeek I hope not. Snow gives me loads of extra work to do.

From a purely selfish point I really hope I hope the snow stays off till Monday afternoon!!

We are meeting my DS in London on Saturday - he's coming home from Uni in Norwich and we will park at my sisters in Greenwich. We are planning on meeting him around 8pm and then all going for a meal in Covent Garden before driving home.
On Sunday we will be celebrating my Dad's birthday and DS Xmas day then on Monday we have to take him to Heathrow for 0800hrs as he is flying to America to have Xmas with his girlfriend.

As soon as that is done the weather can do what it likes :rotfl: (mostly - just so that I can then get my xmas veg in!!!!)

Katie

I seen this latest forcast too and I'm hoping its wrong, snow on xmas eve and xmas day will be enough thank you.
I am travelling to aberdeen on Thursday for a funeral so really hope the roads are ok for that.

Perhpas if we all wish hard enough we can keep the snowy weather away, think I'm still trying to dry the snow clothes from last weeks snow :rotfl2:

As much as i love the snow i no exactly where your coming from not wanting snow next week.
I hope it's not going to be to bad down your way & the trucks can keep rolling Tony. :thumbsup2

I hope the snow doesn't disrupt you too much Tone. I must admit I am dreading the snow coming, I've got a fun weekend planned, and the snow could ruin it. If it was up to me, it would only be allowed to snow on Christmas Day .. and must be melted by Boxing Day ;)

I agree :goodvibes

I hope it doesn't disrupt too much of everyones plans. I'm just getting used to the fact the snow has gone finally... and its coming back :faint:

I hate it Tone, and feel for you in your work. I have the same fun weekend planned as Mand, we don't get to see each another as it is, and I have a feeling in my bones that the snow is going to spoilt it - argggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Its amazing how much the snow disrupts so many people in so many ways.

We own a finishing company ie screeding, plastering, tiling, rendering etc. We were due to complete 56 houses from the 12th November to the 22nd December and to date we've done a magnificient 6

No water on site as its all frozen, H&S Laws now wont allow sites to open when there is a certain amount of snow and more importantly the ice on the ground due to Plant Machinery Movement etc, Plaster and Render unable to dry if below 4 degress.

Novelty has seriously worn off now for me, its still like an ice rink where we live, DS5 is now in competition with himself as to how many times he will fall whilst walking to school :sad2:

This is to funny. Saw this older article this morning on a twitter sight about future snow in the UK. Guess this prediction missed the mark.

Flashback to the UK (now covered in snow) of 2000. "Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past."

My DS managed to get home for the sum total of 6hrs yesterday - to have early Xmas dinner and collect the presents, then it was back to London on the train and straight out to Heathrow.
Having spent the night in T3 in what he describes as WW3 :rotfl: (and this from a student!!) at 5am he was first in the queue to check in this morning and the American Airlines website shows him taking off an hour late at 1130.
He is flying to Boston then onto Chicago where his DGF will pick him up later today - all going well.

I am sending all of you who are still struggling to get away some of his pixie dust to help you on your way.pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

only took me 3 hours to travel from Crosby (30 miles) tonight, usually an hour journey
The roads in Liverpool are a joke

I have so had enough of this weather now, I can't drive my new car because of it (it's just too powerful and would spin all over the place) it's started to affect the Christmas trade in our shop now too, this week should be our busiest of the year and I doubt that we are going to take half of what we should of because people are staying home (rightly so) if they can. :(

It's -12 in Livingston right now. I've given up putting the kids in their school trousers and have been sticking black velvet trousers on DD(5) and black jogging bottoms on DS(8). It's too cold to walk the mile along to school in paper thin trousers! Fortunately the school has been OK about it, and they do have uniform trousers to change into if the teacher wants them to once in school.

We are just along the road from you in East Calder. It's really cold here isn't it ? I've been sending my DD to school with the thermals she normally wears to horse riding under her uniform .

We've had snow since November and it had just started to thaw and then was replaced by more last weekend. There should be a rule that it can only fall on Christmas week :santa:

I'll be really glad when it melts as I've already written off one of our cars on black ice . Thankfully only the car was seriously damaged.

It's also too cold to really go out and enjoy it now .You can only play for a wee while in temps of -12.;) before you NEED a hot choc break
