Not going to WDW until APs are back

Well they've already said that they're keeping park reservations for the foreseeable future. But in terms of being able to visit over a longer period of time than just 14 days...or more park days total than 10...

I wouldn't be surprised if the reservations didn't go away. It helps with park staffing and it allows them to limit discounts to low demand days. I'm sure you will also see more surcharges during high demand periods. It is much easier to operate the park if they can have a consistent number of guests in the park every day.

We have always had AP. I know my family will be super angry with me. But I am not buying regular tickets multiple times.
I am going to skip until then.

We plan on going two weeks in August, but will just do other things.
Time to try Universal and will use my credit for Discovery Cove from last year and will get the Sea World & Busch Gardens add on.
Plenty to keep us busy this next trip.
We did something similar and bought Universal APs instead....even used our AP discounts there to mix in some days at Portofino and Cabana Bay. We're spending the same amount of time and money at Orlando theme parks, just less of it is going to Disney

We are DVC. We don't keep AP continous. We buy and AP and get 3 trips out of it and take a break and then start the cycle over again. Our we expired when they put the brakes on.

We do the EXACT same thing and were also on our "off" year when they stopped selling them. Its the only way it is affordable for us with our DVC.

We went last summer due to have pre purchased DL tickets that we were able to convert into WDW tickets with the shutdowns in California. Booked DVC for this August as usual hoping they would have AP's again (this was when we had always planned to do another AP round since last year was our supposed to be our big California trip) and now we can only get 1 week tickets. So irritated. If they don't do something soon for DVC owners we will probably start renting our points or sell a contract. They have stripped away most of the benefits of owning DVC and we are blue card owners.

On a side note, we have done several trips over the last year to use up our DVC points and because of the ridiculous ticket prices have not set foot in Disney parks on several of them and done Universal, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, etc and had a FABULOUS time and were treated like royalty. If Disney doesn't value my business and take it for granted, I will take it elsewhere.

I sympathize with you. Our family is stuck with one person without an AP (my son) because I only renewed two before they went away. We don’t always renew because sometimes the spacing between trips is bigger and it’s a better deal to wait and buy a new one. Depending on the year. Now I have to keep buying tickets just for him over and over which is super frustrating. It would be nice if families who all have APs except one kid could just buy one. But I see that would just cause problems. It’s a major headache now and I hope APs are coming back soon.

Have you called Disney and asked? I think I read they were issuing them for children who turned 3 and became eligible for APs, maybe they can do similar?

I called but unfortunately they couldn't help. I'm going to try at guest services when we arrive for our next trip. Fingers crossed they will work some magic.
