Not FW/but need camping suggestions!

We are planning a trip to see my kids great grandmother in March and I have been looking for a good campground near Venice, FL. So far, everything looks geared for snowbirds (not that that is bad but I have three kids ages 8, 5, 3 that I need to entertain). I was wondering what is close to Venice that would be very convenient to a beach (or even tied into a beach) that would be good for bike riding, playgrounds, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated! South Sarasota down to the Punta Gorda area are all within a reasonable drive to Venice. TIA! Lisa

If you hit the Woodall's Web Site you can do a search for campgrounds in the area. I just did a quick search for cg's within 25 miles of Venice, Fl and got back 13 cg's in the results.

We have camped at Oscar Scherer many times. We always enjoy it. It's in Osprey which is not far from Venice. When we camp there we usually go to Venice Beach.
