We leave in just a few hours to head to Anaheim. We will be in the parks Wed, Thurs, Friday. I am not sure what is wrong with me. I am not excited for this trip. I usually can't wait to get out the door and want to get on the road early. We are taking our oldest son who is visiting for college and he has never done DL only WDW. Our 7 year old is excited like usual. But me? I could care less this trip. I know once I get there it should get better but right now?:confused3 Am I losing the magic?:scared1:

Are you stressed or worried about something else? Have you planned things that YOU enjoy for DL?

not really stressed. maybe exhausted. staying up too late, getting up too early. having son home from college throws a kink in the routine. I know once I get there we will have fun but right now I would rather stay home and hibernate than go and deal with people.

I get that way sometimes too--it sounds to me like you are tired from trying to get everything ready and planned and you need a rest! Any chance you can take a little time for yourself to relax before the trip?

Well I hope you have a great time. Once you get there you will forget about stuff and have a great time. Report back when you return. Have a great time and safe trip. :wizard:

It's from all the planning, arranging, etc.... I wouldn't worry about it. I was the exact same way before our first trip to WDW in 12 years. I was soooo excited, until it got to be about 1 week prior and then I wasn't. (I even posted about it like you did.)

Once we landed at Orlando - OMG WE"RE AT DISNEY WORLD!!!

Hopefully, it's the same for you. Just roll with it and hopefully the excitement will sink in upon arrival when there's no more checklists.

Have a great trip,
Dreams

Trust me, once you get there most of those feeling will go away, maybe not all but most. I'm speaking from experience, we did 3 trips to DLR from Tgiving thru New Year's and by the last trip we were not wanting to go, but once there we managed to have a good time. :)

I know what you mean. Same boat early December. It is probably just the stress of the holidays and getting back to normal. Trust me when you get there your excitement will kick in. You want to talk about the blues try coming home after a great trip to snow and no electricity. That really blows. You will turn into your normal Disney self once you are there. Have fun!

Yep. I'm feeling the same way. We were supposed to go right before Christmas and I was so excited for that, but then DH found out he was going to have to be in LA for work and it coincides with my sons track break from school, so we moved our trip. We leave in two days. I'm still a bit bummed about not going for Christmas time because I really wanted to. And because of that, we decided to go home for Christmas which is a lot of work mailing santa presents to my parents house before Christmas and then packing them up and mailing them back to our home and just traveling at Christmas time in general. And now I'm trying to finish unpacking everything from that trip and put new toys away while trying to take down Christmas decorations and pack those away. I'm just tired and so unmotivated to even think about Disney. I'm more looking forward to being in a hotel and not having to cook than I am excited for Disney right now ;)

But I know once I walk through the gates everything will be fine and all the stress will go away. That's the beauty of Disney! :lovestruc

Have a great trip!

I know what you mean - I REAAALLY pushed for this trip too, I've been trying to go since last yr!

I figured since the kids are getting out of "Disney" maybe I'm following THEIR suit. :confused3 My 5 yo knows Marvel / DC Comic story lines backwards & frontwards (as do I now) & the excitement sort of is in whatever they love. My love of Disney rubbed off on them for yrs...& now I think they moved on?

I was gauging how this trip goes on future trips.

I do agree changing the routine can change the feeling. I know Christmas didn't feel like it usually does...MIL was in town!!

ALSO...I haven't planned a THING! Last time I organized movies..got Disney clothes..got Disney activities for the ride..this time - nada. I know how we'll do Fantasyland on EE bc I learned last time...other than that - what is there to "plan"?

I can easily get excited. I will happily take your place on the trip for you!:rotfl:
