Has anyone had any experience or problems with not everyone in your party being on the dining plan? My husband and I have the dining plan and his mom will be joining us for a few days without the dining plan. Does that cause a problem? How does the restaurant handle it?

It shouldn't be difficult at all.

If you are paying out of pocket for the extra meals, at a TS location they just bring two bills...one for the dining plan to sign, the other for the cash/charge items.

You could also use any of your extra credits to pay for her meals, although that might leave you paying out-of-pocket for meals later on.

When we were there, and on the plan, there were times when we ordered items not included (alcoholic drinks, for example). We were just billed separately for them.

Just let your server know and they'll take care of everything.

I assume she will have her own room, right? Or are you just going to put her in your room without telling anyone? Because otherwise she has to be on your package and has to get the dining plan if you are. Everyone in the room has to have the same options on the package - ticket, dining plan.

As for using the dining plan, no problems at the restaurant. Just tell them what you plan to pay for out of pocket and how many credits you are using. You can even share meals if you want (assuming it is not a fixed price restaurant like a buffet).

So, if I read this right, if my wife and I are on the dining plan and my SIL is with us for a meal at California Grill, then we could order two dining plan dinners and split it between the three of us?

Also, can I pay for my sisters meal at LeCellier with my Dining Plan? She will not have it, but wants to eat here with us and we will not have the kids with us that night.

Having the extra person in your room for a few days is not a problem at all. Just tell the CM at check in when they will be there and they can add them to your room. I think it was like $15 a night. We did this in August.
As for the plan meals, you just tell the server you are using 2 credits and paying for 1. We did this at Prime Time. The more expensive meals were put on the plan and we paid for the other. It was no problem at all.
