A while back I remember a thread on this board about "When do you feel like you have enough points?" For us, I said that right after we add on, I fell like "Now we have plenty!" That is, I feel that way for a few months. But as usual, after a while I realize we need more. I was calculating the number of points we need for the vacations we want to do next year and realize we're over 100 points short. What happened? I remember there was a time about 11 years ago when 175 points was plenty. Now 460 points isn't enough? What happened?

Lol. Calc you mf and that might help :).

Did you line up your decimal places correctly? :P

That always burned me in school!

you can use one of two formulas...
1. # of points per day * 365
2. # of points per week * 52

Looks like it's time for another add-on.....unless you decide to scale back your vacations.

Nah, THAT ain't happening. ;)

I know how you're feeling. We have 470 points and we have even rented a week from another member to try to stretch our points. We aren't going to scale our plans back either. Wish I could make myself feel more comfortable about borrowing our own points. Have you considered a point transfer from the rent/trade board?

Could it depend on what resort you've been going to OR how long your stay is OR which room you chose? That usually happens to us. I can pretty much pinpoint it to staying in the GRAND villa @ VGC for 3 YEARS in a row!!! Now it was only 2 - 4 days each time BUT it DID put a dent in our pot of points! As a result I am doing SPLIT stays (ON/OFF property) for WDW the next 2 Christmas vacations! Although NO REGRETS staying in the GRAND VILLAS but at least now I can build up my points for awhile! MAYBE??
( I sometimes get the BORROW fever!)

Same here! We started with 160 and are up to 460, after just adding on 300 this month. I'm sure in a few years I'll be on here saying the same thing as you.

Sent from my phone using DISBoards Ap, please excuse any typos and autocorrect mistakes.

I feel your pain. I am 16 points short for my upcoming September reservation. I am unable to post on the Rent/Trade board because of the post requirements so I had to do what any "normal" person would do. I had to add on 100 more points. LOL :rotfl:

Is this 16 points after getting the one time use points from Disney? If not, you are well within the booking timeframe to get them.

I always think we don't have enough (400), but if we miss one year of vacation using the points, we would have way too many the next year. Decided not to add-on, but do other things for vacation instead of using points.

I was thinking the same thing, but then again it IS a really good reason to add on more! :)

Yep. I bought 1 lousy point to originally complete my reservation and then we decided to tack on one more day. I have a cash reservation currently for one of them at a whopping $472.00 for one night in a studio but the other night was available for 16 points so as I explained to my husband, we never have enough points and are always renting more or getting point transfers we should probably just add on again.

Of course, now that we have added on again, we all know that those won't be enough either. :lmao:

.?:confused3 what's this about?

Sounds like bwvBound also thinks getting a point transfer would help the OP. The Timeshare Store (TTS) is reported to facilitate point transfers.

I thought you had used lots of points staying at the other DL resorts?

Thank you, CarolMN -- it is exactly as you said.

Several months back I picked up a block of points through one-time-transfer from TTS. The points were expensive ($15/pt) but the transaction was fast, painless and mostly without risk. I expect I'll be doing this again someday ...
