Not DVC owner...anything left for Thanksgiving week?

I'm not a DVC memeber, I'm looking to rent points. I'm getting off of the cruise ship on Saturday 11-18-06 so I'm interested in staying November 19th - 22 and I don't know if there is anything left. Does anybody know?
I put it out there on the rent/trade board but haven't had responses. I'd love to try a villa for a few nights!

Highly doubt it. There are lots of people on waitlists now. Your best bet would be to find someone with a reservation that they cannot use.

I am looking to rent points the week after Thanksgiving. A 1 bedroom, and all that is available is OKW or SSR. Have you responded to some of the points for rent on the rent/trade board? That's what I did and that's how I found out that those two resorts are the only ones available for 1 bedrooms.

I just haven't had responses, except for one that was just a nightly rate about the same as Disney with a code. How do I go about finding somebody with a ressie that they can't use? Don't they just cancel it and then somebody from the wait list gets it?

Yes, if a member cancels a reservation, the accomodations will go to the next member on the waitlist.

However, not everyone cancels if they find they cannot use the reservation. Some will offer the reservation for rent.

My advice is to make a back up reservation somewhere if you really want to go during that time. Then keep an eye on the Rent/Trade Board to see if anyone offers somwthing for your time frame. You might also post an ad requesting the dates you want (If you haven't already, be sure to read the Sticky threads and follow the posting rules).

FWIW, that is a very popular time and your chances of getting a reservation are not very good. It could happen, though, so it's worth it to keep trying if you have a back up reservation somewhere.

Thanks for the info! I have back up reservations at the Animal Kindgom Lodge. I sure hope a code comes out because it's higher than rack rates at a whopping 270. per night for a STANDARD VIEW! If a code comes out it's only 75.00 off. I guess they changed things around this season. Last year I paid 134.00 at the WL with a code.
Maybe I'll make a back up of the back up in case the codes don't come out. hee hee.
