Since 1999, Pin Pics has served the Disney Pin Trading community by providing a service whereby collectors can maintain a comprehensive pin database, set up lists of pins that they own, want or will trade, and connect with other online traders by means of our automated Trade Assistant.
Now Pin Pics, in collaboration with Pin Fever, is branching out to include the thousands of Olympic Pin Traders around the world. Due to a new feature called Pin Classes, Olympic pins can co-exist with Disney pins in the same database. Members are able to select, via their Member Profile, which classes of pins they are interested in, and can tailor exactly what type of information they wish to see on Pin Pics. If you are a Disney trader not interested in Olympic pins (or vice versa), just select your Pin Classes of interest and you'll not be bothered with the others.
For everyone else who is interested in both Disney and Olympic pins, the Trade Assistant is integrated so that you can select your trades and wants of both classes, and even initiate trade requests between classes, ie. an Olympic pin for a Disney pin.
For compatibility, we have initially marked all of our current members as interested in Disney pins only. If you wish to see Olympic pin information after logging into Pin Pics, you should use the Edit Profile menu option to select Olympic pins in addition to Disney. All new members will see all classes of pins unless they specifically edit their profile to set their preferences.
To make your Pin Pics experience as convenient as possible, we have attempted to tailor each database function to the set of pin classes you are interested in. To take advantage of this, however, you'll need to log in before surfing the site. To make this easier, we have added a new persistent cookie type which will allow your browser to remain logged in between sessions, if your browser supports it. We have also added login information to the top-right corner of all the generated database pages so that you can tell at a glance how you're logged in.
To the Olympic Pin Traders just joining us, please allow us to extend you a heartfelt welcome and hope that you will find a bunch of new friends here. It may be a few weeks before the Olympic side of the pin database is populated enough to be useful for pin trading, but with everyone helping out we're sure we can get there as quickly as possible. Remember the Pin Pics philosophy that everyone is invited to add pins to the database, for the benefit of all.
