Not counting infant

Just made my ADR's and I was told(will remain nameless) that I did not have to include the baby. Now I have found out that I did. Changed all but one, LeCellier, and they didn't have any reservation for our day. Do you think if we keep our reservation there would be a problem getting our table? We are going from 5 to 6. I would think that we would be at a table for 6 anyway. They couldn't put us at a table for 4.

Most likely it will be fine. You'll only have one person turned away if the restaurant is completely full and they cannot even seat one extra person due to fire codes.

As Nala said as long as the restaurant isn't full you MAY be ok with the extra person is an infant.
BUT there is no way to know until you get there.
They could easily refuse to sit 1 person and that person would have to wait while the others dined.

It isn't as simple as tables/chairs, it has to do with fire code policy. Something that WDW is strict on.

I'd keep trying online to make the reservation for 6.

We were at LeCellier early in December and it was the longest wait we've ever had - to the point where there was a CM asking trivia questions to keep everyone occupied during the 75-90 minute wait. The hostesses were being very strict about reservations and not allowing any leeway. If that should happen in your case, then it would be up to you to decide which person in your group would have to go elsewhere.

I think this was a worst case scenario because Epcot was packed with people wanting to see Whoopi Goldberg narrate the Candlelight Processional. You will probably be fine, but it can happen.

If you can't be seated and do opt to go elsewhere, don't just go. Ask a Hostess for help getting another nearby reservation - maybe Yachtsman or Flying Fish if you're using DDP credits, anywhere in the vicinity otherwise. All reservation systems are connected.

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't worry about it. The chances of being 1 person away from fire code capacity are a long shot. I think that yes, if your ressie is for 5, you'll already be slotted a 6 person table.

I agree it's a long shot, but it's still a shot, and the OP should consider that one of their party MAY be turned away. Space at the table isn't relevant when they are talking about capacity for fire codes. Le Cellier is a small restaurant.

Always better to know and be prepared for what COULD happen. It does the OP no good if we all just say "It'll be fine! Don't worry about it!" when there is a chance that there COULD be a problem.

Maybe I'm missing something, but have you tried calling the Dining Line, and asking if they can amend your existing reservation? You indicated that you have a reservation for 5, why not call and say that you also have an infant? It sounds like you tried to book a new reservation at Le Celier?

Yes, I did call as soon as I learned that I should have counted the baby. I was told I there were no more reservations available, even for 1. But I do have a plan now, we are going to check in the night before and see if there will be a problem with the baby, if so we will cancel then and make another reservation for a different restaurant. Thanks for all the information.

The only issue I see about that is that they can't really tell if it will be an issue the following night. There would be too many variables that could change the outcome. Plus, even if someone says that it should be okay, when you show up it could be a different answer.
