NOT COOL...Disney needs to change the way it sells the Mickey's Halloween Party tickets

It's not just scalpers - it's computer bots that grab them. As DizMe pointed out - Yosemite sells out in 45 seconds for hundreds of campgrounds, and this is because people have computer bots buying them. I suspect the same is true for MHP.

As someone who has been to a Halloween party at Disney the day before Halloween once, I do not think it would be as much fun as you think ON Halloween night. I would suggest picking another night, if you can, so at least you get to experience it. I was shocked at how terribly crowded it was and hubby was not impressed with that either. But that's just us.
I also think that they should print your names on the tickets, since you are the ones buying them and that way it's much harder to resell.

I'm sure that's what happens with tickets to lots of popular events. Except like with my example with the NFL, I bought them resale on the NFLTicketExchange through ticketmaster, so the NFL is making even more money each time tickets are resold (and as soon as I bought mine, there was a link in my e mail to resell my tickets AGAIN!), no doubt. It wouldn't surprise me if Disney found a way to profit off of resold tickets sometime in the future, too.

The MHP for 10-31 sold out on Aug 8th.
Tickets went on sale to AP holders 7-22-15 and the public 7-29-15.

If computer bots were purchasing MHP tickets for 10-31-15, it wouldn't have taken 11 days to sell out.

Wait at your own risk......

I understand having to request time-off work, having the money to make the trip and buy tickets... We've all been there.

At least 10-31 isn't the one and only party. There are 16 other dates to enjoy.

Those eBay sellers are taking huge risks. I know last year's MNSSHP Halloween tickets were going for thousands on eBay! Many sellers and buyers were ripped off. There were counterfeit tickets for some buyers and some sellers were forced into disputes when the buyers claimed they did not receive the tickets or claimed they were counterfeit.

The ticket marketplace (call it reselling or scalping) is becoming less restrictive, since the various parties involved (artists, teams, venues, ticket agents...) all want part of the resale revenue. The NFL and other major sports both support and profit from ticket resale, and tickets must be sold at ABOVE face value. I am more willing to renew my NHL season tickets, since reselling unused games (which conflict with Disney trips) has become quite easy -- even my parking pass is transferable.

Some concerts have "regular" tickets, "premium" tickets, and "resale" tickets listed on the same website, or even the same interactive seating map.

Disney is different, since they are all combined: artist, venue, box office.
Disney might find a way to profit from resale, or might need to provide the service because guests demand it.

What on Earth leads you to believe that it is locals that are scalping the tickets????
Ah.. ummm the 84 craigslist listings in Orange County selling /scalping tickets for the halloween party... While... I do stand corrected as of the 2 individuals selling on eBay, one is in CA and the other on Oregon.
