I try real hard not to worry, but when the snow is coming and I have to be on the roads late tonight, and am hoping to fly out in the morning, anxiety does get the best of me. I have checked in for the flight, but of course, I have to get to home tonight, and then to the airport in the morning. DH and I have different flights, his is later than mine, I wanted to get to see a friend's daughter singing in the CP.

OK. I have a night to "play with" at ASMu so really I suppose we have until Saturday to get there. Why does DVC automatically cancel the ressie if you don't get there? Why can't it just be waiting for you to get there? You are paying for it. Can you call to say "I'm on my way?"

Call them and tell them you are coming. It is snowing here in Indiana I can't see across the street. They are saying 6 inches. Be safe in your travels.

We are also leaving in the morning (from Connecticut). We too are worried about delays and cancellations, especially since we are only going down for a long weekend. :worried:

I have arrived without calling at 10pm and the room was ready for me.

If I am arriving after midnight I would definitely call.

just call MS now and say you might be late - but since you could also be early - I don't know if this will work for you.

If you realize you are going to be arriving late the date of just call the resort.

"home", we arrived at 10:30pm..and our little BCV studio was all ready for us when we got there...

Weather delays, and missed our connection. I was able to call from the airport and let them know.

Safe travels!!

Same problem here, leaving (hopefully) from Boston tommorow at 2pm. Looks like a fairly heavy storm coming in thru out the day. I called member services and they said to call the resort directly tommorow if we are not going to get there so they don't cancel the reservation. We also are only staying for a long weekend, so good luck to all that are trying to leave tommorow!

DH and I are home safe from our night trip. The roads, interstates aren't too bad. We have brought the dog to the kennel today, so tomorrow is just for our getting to the airport.

I wish safe traveling to all of you. Thank you for the heads up about calling the resort, I've passed that information to our friends who will be coming as well.

Send your snow to me, since I am not going anywhere until Christmas  I could use a day or two off from work! Be safe, everyone!

I'd love to send you some of the 7 inches of white stuff I have here Cruella, as neither my nor dh's employers belive in days off for bad weather (and it's still coming down) ! UGHhhh.....accidents everywhere.......

Bobbiwoz,
Hope your flight gets off without a hitch. I hope you get to see your friend's dd perform in the CP (as well as get to some more pleasent weather) :flower:

Absolutely Disney will work with you, be sure to take the phone numbers of the front desk of the resort of where you are staying. Call and speak to the front desk manager as you head down south. They will not cancel your reservation as long as you communicate what is going on. As always get the name of the person you are speaking with and keep record. Sometimes people, even CM make mistakes. I have never seen Disney do anything but what is right in circumstances that where out of a guest's control on their arrival or departure.

I was supposed to check in at 10pm on a Sunday for my wedding/honeymoon trip. We didn't leave JFK until 1230am!!! I just kept calling SSR telling them we were coming. Finally got there at 5am Monday morning. They let us check in since we were due the day before but people who drove down and were early were not allowed to check in. They weren't happy!

Be sure you get your points back for that night. Call MS -- if they give you an static, ask them to talk to a coach. They will give you the points back for the first night. They won't let people check in early because the rooms were probably not ready. Housekeeping is always a challenge, especially if resort is full. It depends on how many checking in/out at any given day if the rooms will be ready early. Some CMs just don't let you check in because of the "creating expectations" for the next time.

If you check in at 5 am basically you are getting the room that you reserved. (I once had to explain this to a manager when my flight was delayed. I explained that either I wanted a REFUND or a ROOM.. I had paid for the room stating the evening before. Got my room.. this was not at Disney!)
