Not another code thread. But AP holders are going to flame me.

I firmly believe there will be NO general codes released for my May 27-June 4 trip to POR. :guilty:

That being said after much debate (and after letting all you real AP holders get your rooms) :rolleyes1 I called today on a whim to see if I could convert my ressies to the AP rate. I figured if it happens, it was meant to be. :earboy2:

I will only save about $127 on my resort. But, I added in the DDE and my savings are at least $200. :Pinkbounc

I have a ? about buying my AP and DDE.

1. Is a month enough time to order the AP from Disney and get it b/f my trip?

2. Where can i get it activated at 10pm?

3. Do I have to have an activated AP to order DDE?

4. If #3 is yes, would I be able to do this on my trip?

Thanks

Michele

hi there...we had our aps waiting for us at the park..and we ordered the disney dining experience and yes you do have to have an activated ap to get that ....so what they did for us was..once we picked up our aps..we called and purchased the dde and they faxed over a letter stating we were members to the magic kingdom since that was the park we were at so we could use it while we were there...it can all work out quite nicely.. :goodvibes

When you say your ap's were waiting at the parks, did you not need it to check into a ap rate?

Thanks

For my Feb 25-March 7th trip, I was told I needed it prior to checking in so I bought it at the Magic of Disney store at the airport. That way no need to wait in line to pick up your pass and then head back to the resort to check in.

I think cyndibelle was talking about the DDE card.
You will need an activated AP to check in if they ask for it. YOu can also probably use your voucher, they may ask you to return in 24 hours to prove that you activated it and whatnot.

For the DDE card you can call the number once you have your AP and have the email letter faxed to your resort for you to use until you get your official card.

Ok Cobbler, lets say they let me check in with my voucher and the next morning we head out to a park. The bus from POR takes you right up to MK where do I activate my AP then? I know the other parks have ticket windows when dropped off, so I would go straight to the window for them?

Thanks

Yes when I activated our first AP's we went to the ticket windows and exchanged our vouchers in. At the MK its that white building on the right hand side near the bathrooms.

It was my understanding that the DDE card can be ordered with a voucher because there are numbers on the back. I read this over on the dining thread.

There are many threads on DDE over there and they are long so I am just pasting in what someone posted.

The # is (407) 566-5858. You don't really need to tell them anything specific. They'll ask you for the # on the back of the voucher/AP and ask if you want a 2nd card for a spouse, and that's about it.

Have things changed? I ordered my DDE on or about January 6th and didn't buy my AP until we got there on January 15th. You wouldn't want to activate your AP just to order the DDE, I wouldn't think.

There was a lot of confusion at the beginning when the DDE Card became available to AP holders and now you have to have one or the other in hand to order the DDE card...that is my understanding anyway. And, for sure to get it for $50.

I asked last night on the phone too with CRO and you need to have a voucher OR an activated AP.

Just wanted to mention that I believe the DDE office is only open Monday - Friday and is not open very late in the evening. Would hate for you to buy your AP over the weekend and then assume you could get the DDE info faxed to you on the same day. :earseek:

Last month when I made our FW Cabin ressies I also ordered APs. I was told I would pick them up upon checkin at FW. I imagine they will be the vouchers that will need to be activated at the parks. When I asked about DDE I was transferred to another dept. I told them I had just ordered APs. She asked for the ticket confirmation/reciept number. I gave that to her, and was told my cards would arrive in 6 - 10 wks. She offered to fax me a confirmation if our trip was in the near future. Unfortunately, it's not until June!

So what's the going time frame now on getting the dde card?

how about how long it takes to get your ap voucher?

Thanks for the info!!!

I ordered my DDE before I had my annual pass activated. they never even asked me for the voucher number on the paper.

Well, I'm a "real" AP holder and that's exactly what I did when I got my first AP. No flames from me.

You can get an AP at most local Disney Stores. Or you can buy vouchers at the airport I think. If not a month should be enough time anyway.

You do not need to have it activated to check in if you are checking in late. Just show them the voucher and have it activated in the morning when you go to the park.

PolyAddict,

Just went through this all myself:

You DO need to have an AP voucher to order the DDE card. They now require the number from the back of the voucher. I ordered my AP voucher online from www.disneyworld.com. It took 1-1.5 weeks to arrive in the mail with standard shipping ($3).

Once I received my vouchers, I called to order the DDE card. It is taking 4-6 weeks for DDE cards to arrive in the mail, but they will email you a letter that can be used in lieu of the card for your trip. Other posters have recommended taking extra copies of your letter in case one gets misplaced.

You can also get your activated AP at Guest Relations in Downtown Disney, which is what I'm planning since we're staying at POFQ.

I hope this helps!

If you drive through Ocala, you can stop at the Official Disney Information Center and buy an activated AP.
