Just returned from a week stay (June 19-26). Had alot of good food and alot of burgers  Let me start by saying I am not an adventurous eater and neither is my DD15. DD's BF16 who also went with us is down right picky and will not eat any poultry or fish. DH was the only one that would eat things out of the norm so he was our gauge on how the food was at many restaurants. We were on the DDP.

Let me add that we stayed at BC CL so we did not eat breakfast at the restaurants except for the last day. I love the CL lounge for breakfast!!

I am not going to list our drinks as this is what we got at most meals. DH - Iced tea - sweetened tea was hit or miss. DD and DD's BF root beer or coke, and me mostly water, but if it was available Pomegranet Lemonade, I loved this stuff, wish I could have some right now!
Day 1 (June 19th) - Coral Reef 7:30 pm ADR

Waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Our table was on the second level midway through the restaurant. All 4 of us had the steak and they were cooked perfectly the roasted red potatoes were also good. DD missed not having a baked potato, but she ate it all! For dessert, the girls got the cheesecake, but did not realize it was sugarfree and they hated it. DD tried to choke down a few bites, but just could not eat it. I had the Bailey's and Jack Daniel's Mousse, which I liked. I do not drink and was worried the liquor taste would be too strong, but it was not. DH had the chocolate wave which he said was good, but gave half of it to the girls since they did not like theirs. We all agreed this was the best meal of the trip!

Day 2 (June 20th) ~ lunch Pizzafari (counter service)

When DH placed our order he was paying and the little lady at the register told him we were the lucky family. He was very confused, but she added salads to our order (we are on DDP and should not get salads) and DH and the kids were lead to a fancy table complete with table cloth, cloth napkins, Kermit the Frog "reserved" sign real silverware! He was told they would bring the food out. Of course I had gone to find a table so DD came to find me. I was so shocked :scared1: We were served with our drinks in glasses, on real plates (not paper). They checked on us periodically and asked if we needed anything. The people sitting around us kept looking trying to figure out why we got to sit there. I am not sure, except that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary, but they never actually said why. It was so nice.

Dinner - Cape May Cafe buffet 6:55pm ADR

I have to say it was okay. We had to wait here the longest out of all of the restaurants we tried. I think we waited about 20 min. We are from the south and usually we eat fish that is breaded and fried. Just what we are used to. We do not eat much broiled fish. I did find one breaded fish and some chicken nuggets. They also have a beef cutting station and that was good too. I mainly liked the mac and cheese. The girls just picked at their food too. DD's BF just ate mac and cheeese and bread (she does not eat chicken nuggets). There was a big salad area, but we are not salad eaters except for DH. He did try alot of things and ate alot of the crab legs and peel and eat shrimp, but it is just not our norm for fish so he was disappointed. We stayed at BC and loved the hotel!!

Day 3 ~ (June 21st). lunch America in World Showcase

DH and I had burgers just regular Disney fare, nothing exciting. However, they were always double burgers, I took one off and did not eat it. DD had chicken nuggets and she really liked them, go figure! DD's BF had the BBQ sandwich, she ate it but it was very messy. Chocolate cake for dessert.

Afternoon snack - Sunshine Seasons - used my snack credit for the strawberry shortcake. It was really good. The strawberries were sweet and I really liked it. DH had to try the meals and got the cashew chicken, he liked it. The girls just got drinks.

Dinner - Tutto Italia - Italy in Epcot 7:25pm ADR.

I loved this place! Our waitress was wonderful. The bread was actually an assortment, they were all good. They gave us butter and olive oil for dipping. DD and I had the Spagetti w/meatballs. I really liked it. The sauce was different than we get at home, but it was good. DD BF and DH got the lasagna and DH loved it. DD's BF did not like it so she and DD traded. I tasted it and I like it, but the meat filling tasted so much like the meat filling in Chef Boy Ardee ravioli that it was a little weird. For dessert I had the Tiramisu - wonderful and light. Everyone else had a sampler, of tiramisu, cannoli, and something else I cant remember what it was called, but it was in a little chocolate shaped like a coffee cup, very cute. We all liked this meal and the service was great!

Day 4 (June 22) - Lunch - Sci Fi Drive Inn 12:40pm ADR

The girls were worried we would have to sit at a regular table, but we were lucky and got the car table. DD had eaten here before, but her BF had not. She sat there for a while just looking around. We all had the cheeseburger. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Everyone liked them! For dessert I had the peanut butter chocolate cake a la mode, it was very good. The cake was more like a brownie but it tasted good. DD and Dh both had the hot fudge sundae, they said they were really good. DD's BF had the cheesecake which was decorated with carmel popcorn and M&M's. She said it was great! We really enjoyed this meal and were stuffed when we left!

Dinner - We were exhausted so we went back to the resort BC and got their flatbread pizza for dinner (counter service credits) with drinks and dessert atr the Marketplace. I had the chocolate gelato and it was wonderful!! The pizza was good too. Eating dinner in bed was so relaxing and a welcome break.

Day 5 - lunch Pecos Bill's in Magic Kingdom (counter service)

We all had burgers again. This was a running theme this week. Just your regular Disney Burgers, but the buns were different. They were big and hard, I saw many around us taking off the top and just eating the bottom bun. DH had to get the "deluxe" burger that had onion rings, bacon and BBQ sauce, he ate it all! All had cookies for dessert, nothing great and really small.

Dinner - Liberty Tree Tavern 5:15pm ADR

I love this place it is one of my all time favorites! It is family style and I like that! This was the only restaurant that I saw someone taking pictures of their food. I am sure that review will be on here soon! The salad was okay, I am not a big salad eater. DH loved it. Sides were really good, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and green beans. None of us ate the ham, but the flank steak and turkey was great. DD put the gravy on everything. The apple crisp was good too.

Day 6 - lunch Blizzard Beach (counter service)

DH and I had the cheeseburgers of course. DD and her BF both had pizza. I had the chocolate cake, starting to get tired of this! Everyone else had the cheesecake, they said it was very good and moist.

Dinner- our anniversary dinner at Chefs de France 7:35pm ADR

The girls stayed at the resort and ate at Beaches and Cream and then went swimming. Chef's was great. Our waiter Johan was great and explained it all to us. We both did the Prix Fixe, which is a set offering of multiple choices, but you can get an appetizer and dessert with the DDP here. I had the french onion soup, it was wonderful. I hate onions, but I loved this. DH had the Salade Au Bleu, he liked it and ate it all. For entrees I had the Gratin de Macaroni - loved it! DH had the Beef short ribs and they were so tender. Very good! For dessert, I had the profiteroles and they were okay, just large cream puffs with chocolate sauce. DH had the creme brulee and it was great - first time having it and it tasted like roated marshmallows! Wonderful, this is now one of my favorites!

Day 6 - lunch - DH and I ate at Cosmic Ray's in MK (counter service)

I had another burger! and DH had the cheesesteak. Just put it this way, DH only ate half of it. That is usually one of his favorites. I did try the sugarfree brownie and I thought it was good for being sugarfree. We were waiting for the girls to ride Space Mountain so when they were done, DD wanted Pizza and her BF wanted a hot dog. So we went to Casey's and got the hot dog and DH walked to Fantasyland and found some pizza. Eating outside in 100 degree heat was not fun, but they ate it all and the ducks got a little;)

Afternoon tea at GF - we had a 4:50 ADR

...which I now know is too late. It was right before they closed and they were out of alot of things like the Sally Lunn bread. If you go make your ADR around opening to have the full selection. I was not sure what to order and got the Buckingham Palace service along with the Imperial breakfast tea. I hated the sandwiches, but the tea was great, I should have substituted the pastries for the sandwiches, but did not remember to. I then was served scones, which were great. The girls got the Sally Lunn tea service with the mad hatter tea, they were out of the sally lunn bread so they substitutes scones, which were good. The best part, besides the tea, was the triffle. It reminds me of my MIL's punchbowl cake, but no cherries and pineapple. The girls loved it and it was fun. Our waitress was not the best, I guess she was tired since it was the end of their day, but she was not attentive and did not explain anything to us just wanted to know what we wanted.

Dinner - Ohana 8:35pm ADR

We only waited 10 minutes which I thought was great as it was packed (Friday night!). We sat over on the far side right next to a window. I was prepared for the mad rush of food, but that did not happen. We ate all of the bread before the waitress appeared. We waited for a while to get our drinks and then the salad came a bit later. I did notice the waiter next to ours was helping her out, not sure why. The potstickers were great I thought, but no one else liked them not even DH. He did like the wings, but did not want to fill up on that. We did alot of sitting and waiting between courses, we had to wait a while to get the brocolli and noodles. DD and I loved the noodles. Next came the skewers, these were also slow coming out, we had to sit and wait between meats. I thought the steak was the best, DH loved the shrimp and like the steak too. Pork was okay and so was the chicken. The best part of the whole thing was the Bread Pudding a la mode. I found myself with my face in my plate eating it as fast as I could so I could get more. I looked up and everyone at the table was laughing at me. Right as we were finishing dessert the fireworks started and the lights dimmed and we had a great view. We were given 2 cupcakes for our anniversary - took those back to the resort.

Day 7 - breakfast - Cape May Cafe 9:10 ADR

This was okay, not a big breakfast eater. Had spent the week eating in the CL lounge and really found myself missing the oatmeal :) Just your regular breakfast stuff and I ate a few of the Mickey waffles, they were good. Girls mainly wanted to see the characters as it was our only character meal. Lots of pictures and many waffles later it was over and so was our trip!

Overview of the week~ Best Coral Reef (Chef's de France close 2nd
Worst Cape May (dinner)

I think this was the last time we will do the DDP. It was nice using the card, but we ate so much stuff that we felt we had to not to waste it. There were many times we could have shared a meal, especially at the counter service restaurants. I also could have done without several of the desserts and did take many back to the resort, they are now sitting in my fridge ;) Bought a small cooler to bring stuff home.

Having the CL lounge was great and I think that I why we felt we had too much to eat. I loved the secure floor and having the breakfast offerings, I we stay CL again we will definately not do the DDP. We only used the breakfast as a meal, the rest were just snacks or appetizers. I could see how one could do that, we did not see anyone doing it though. It was funny to see some of the ways people would come in the lounge (kids in pajamas, ladies in their robes) I went in to get a drink after being at the pool and felt underdressed, just went in and out.

Great reviews - thanks for taking the time to post
We are using the DDP for the first time on our next trip so it's great to hear your thoughts :thumbsup2

thanks for the review. Chefs De France is our favorite and I'm glad the food is still good and can't wait to get my onion soup and the beef short ribs.

I've read that on Thursdays and Fridays, Cape May Cafe has fried fish on the buffet. I'm not sure what day you went, but if you try it again, go on a Thursday or Friday.

Thank you for the reviews! You ate at some of our favorites.

Maggie
