Not another bag question...

I have never used a bag that large, 17" x 10.5" x 5.5" , in the parks.

I carry the tickets, my cell phone, my camera, a small bottle of Purell, a pen(never know when you need one), and gum (mint, for after meal breath fresh up - but we discard in garbage pails). I wear my sun glasses, and the water bottle is on a water bottle holder landyard.
I use a fanny pack - not too small, but not huge. It is about 3" by 5" by 10".

If I carry around too much stuff, it is not used or needed.

MY DH wears a nylon Nike light string backpack with our rain poncho's squished in it.
Our DS & DD carry their own cell phone and camera, and anything else they want in either a fammy pack or a Nike light string backpack.

We travel light in the Parks and it makes our vacation better.

Why get a bag so large, 17" x 10.5" x 5.5" ?

if you have kids and need a lot of stuff then that looks like a great bag! if it were just me and dh though, i'd take a smaller bag but not fanny pack small - i can't travel THAT light... i'm kind of high maintenance.

I need to carry my rx glasses and sunglasses in case of contacts issues and also i'm paler than pale so i need protection. and i have sensitive skin so i need 2 kinds of sunscreen, 1 for my body and 1 for my face. Blah Blah Blah... I used to carry (pre-kids) a small messenger bag. I liked that it went across my chest, and it was "manly" so dh (then my bf) could help carry it too.

It does look like a nice lightweight bag though, I've seen bigger/bulkier bags for sure. And hot bags - I don't know how some people carry hot backpacks all day long at disney. I'd be a big uncomfy sweatball!!

Anyway, HTH some!

eta - I use everything I carry though, the glasses and few bandaids are the only "just in case" things I carry... :)

Personally, I will never take a shoulder bag to Disney again. Last trip I thought I had the perfect bag but it was a shoulder bag and do matter how light the bag was, by the time I put our stuff in it, my shoulder ached by the end of the day. I ended up buying a bag at Disney. I would strongly recommend a sling bag or crossbody or some type of backpack.

I fully admit that if I can't go hands-free for our carried stuff at WDW, the bag isn't happening. Granted, we still have one lightweight stroller in play, so I can stuff things under there, but that small basket usually gets the rain cover for the stroller (knock wood we don't need it again this year!), which takes up a decent amount of space. We have the Maclaren stroller organizer, which helps for some things, too, but a small-medium backpack seems to work the best for me. I hate constantly having to hoist a shoulder bag back up! This year, we're going with the recently-potty-trained 3-year-old, so a ziploc with an extra outfit is a must-have. So I'm bringing the slightly bigger backpack. :)

hi!! I used a shoulder bag similar to that one for a day. It was a no go the next day as I grew tired of having to switch shoulders and I was worried things would fall out when I went on the rides. I also had to tote my O2 in it, and it was very heavy!!!! I will not do that again.

I don't see what the big deal with having it in the park besides maybe some rides don't have room for you to put it. Also, if you just keep it lite, it should be fine. I had to have 2 spare bottles of o2 with me and they were 10 pounds each , It didn't work out, LOL, I would recommend a little sling or backpack:confused3. what ever you choose, I hope you like it.

PS, why not take it and try it for a day and see how you would benefit from using it all day at WDW? It can't hurt:goodvibes

UPS just delivered this to my door half an hour ago:

Oh my, I'm in love! Roomy enough to carry what I need but not too big. Lightweight too! I'll use it cross-body, but I'm going to use it as my purse until then. I can't believe the pockets in this baby, even one lined with soft fabric so you can pop your sun glasses into it. So much better than my Heys Travelmate from last years trip, and I loved that bag too.

If you tend to spend a full day in the parks you will be feeling the "one strap" by the end of the day. I don't have much in my park bag but at intervals during the day things creep in there, like an unfinished water, and the occasional small purchase .... what is light to pick up a the beginning of the day can feel like a ton by the end.

I go with a backpack. Smallish is ideal, but 2 straps to evenly distribute the weight is much easier. I also find on some rides, it is great being able to stick my feet through the 2 straps so I know the bag won't drop out anywhere (Rock n Rollercoaster, Expedition Everest, etc)

I can see why you like the bag - it looks great, but maybe not for Disney parks all day.

Yeah, the one strap can get annoying at times. My Heys Travelmate seemed to fit best going one way across my shoulder, so I couldn't switch it back and forth and that was a pain, but this one I'll be able to switch sides. Backpacks are nice, but the only problem I have is that they get a bit uncomfortable when it's hot- my back gets too sweaty. Other than that they are comfortable. :) One bonus I found with the side bag last trip to Disney was being able to shift it to the side, or onto my lap for rides and I didn't have to take it off. Hubby and son wore camelback's and they found it a bit annoying to always have to remove them.
