Not allowing MVMCP FP's

So, I know never to trust any CM at guest services (over the phone) but I called today to ask a question about our MVMCP tickets and he said this year they decided to NOT allow FPs for 4-7 because it was creating a problem with guests wanting in at 4:00 when the park was actually at capacity. Apparently, you are not guaranteed to get in at 4:00, and in some cases will not be allowed in until 7. He said this also was including the halloween party. He said there was a temporary glitch that allows *some* guests to make FPs, but it has since been fixed. Has anyone had any experience with this, because I find it VERY hard to believe. I felt bad, because I actually laughed at him before I realized he was serious. But I don't know why he would make this up?

I currently have fastpasses on a Halloween party night for 3:20-4:20, 4:25-5:25 and 5:30-6:30. I think a few people with fastpasses ending at 6:35 have had them cancelled but my passes are still on my MDE account.

What he said seems unlikely to me but I'm no expert.

I believe they are told to discourage people from making FPs on their party tickets. I did it last year with our MVMCP tickets and GR said we should not have booked FPs on our MVMCP tickets because FPs is not available during the party and is meant for regular day guests. They didn't cancel them or anything just said I shouldn't have done it. I said if I'm not suppose to do it then why does the system let me.

I agree. I just couldn't figure out where he would come up with it if it wasn't true.

This seems like a realistic scenario. He was super adamant (almost argumentative and mean about it) ...

I have FP booked betw 4-6:30pm for my MNSSHP day this coming Sept.
I did it last Fall as well with no problems & enjoyed my rides. I was let in exactly at 4pm.
Sounds like you had the bad luck to encounter a grouchy CM who went over & beyond guidelines to stress that there is no promise or guarantee. However, the reality is much better. :-)

Interesting enough, I have MNSSHP tickets for 09/23 and I can't book fastpasses with them. My 30 day window isn't until tomorrow though, we're staying offsite. Do you think the FP window will open for me tomorrow for the 4-7 timeslot?

MDE reads your party tickets as just another set of tickets. It won't actually stop you booking FP+ before 4 (but you wouldn't be able to use them). I would guess that you'll be able to book just fine tomorrow.

It should open just fine. I've never had the system stop me it was only when I had an issue entering that a GR CM said I shouldn't have had FP+ on those tickets anyways.

It worked for me this morning - yea!

Thank you for coming back and updating us. Mine would not work at 60 days under the umbrella method so I'm happy to hear I should have no problems at 30 days. Were you able to get the passes your wanted?

Yes for the most part - except for the hard to get Mine Train. I'll keep trying for that one, I've had luck getting it in the past - just got to keep trying lol. I'm not too worried about it because the stand by line isn't bad during parties since there are no fast passes. Last year I think we waiting maybe 15 minutes for it. We had annual passes last year and I was able to get the fast passes I wanted even during spring break. We never stay on property so I'm always to the 30 day mark. You just have to keep checking, people cancel them all the time once they figure out their dining plans.

Actually, if you intend to be able to book 3 FP+ in advance of the 6:30PM FP+ cut-off on a party day, you must book the FIRST of your 3 FP+ to have a Return Window of 3:30PM (or even a bit earlier.)
You'd have to scurry to your first attraction as soon as you enter the MK at 4PM to use that first FP+, but, if you book the first one for any later than a 3:30PM start, the last of the three FP+ would have a Return Window of later than 5:30-6:30PM, and any FP reservation window that the ends after 6:30PM on party day is often cancelled by Disney.

I have a 5:35pm 7DMT for the night of the Halloween party, no tickets yet.

If you're booked on a regular ticket, the
FP+ rules may to be different for those than for "party tickets."
