Not able to use Pin with FD?

I have a friend that booked through a travel agent employed by Disney(???? Not quite sure of this girl's qualifications, but she says she's Disney employed). She just picked up free dining. She also received the 30% pin for a moderate resort. When she called the agent, she was told that she couldn't use both FD and the pin. True?

yes this is true. Only one discount at a time.
