Hi All:wave2:
Im not very often on-line on a sunday but 1 of my DD's is in bed the other is out at a Busted concert with her dad.

It all started on saturday we went out for a couple of hours in the afternoon leaving our beautiful flat coated retriever Willow on her own she's just turned 1.
She's normally left 3.5hrs every day on her own while im at work and never had any problems.
Saturday was different, when we arrived home there was an empty tin of biscuits on the floor:eek: oh no
She had put her two front paws on the computer cabinet and managed to get them down, they were for my DD to give her teacher next week, she ripped the outer wrapper of and eaten the whole tin:mad:

Well after a couple of hours she started running around the garden like mad, really fast tail between her legs, anybody out there who owns a FCR will know what i mean, anyway her back legs skidded from under her and she landed straight down on her hip:eek: she started crying and shacking instantly i called DH out and he sat with her while i called the vet by this time it was 8pm children where in bed.
The vet said to take her straight away to the surgery,we got the DD's up and took then to nanny's it took us ages to lift Willow as she didn't like us touching her she was still crying it was awful.

We got to the vets and the vet gave her a pain killer let her calm down then examed her she thought she had just pulled a mussle so gave us some tablets to give her and said to come back Sunday if she wasnt walking on it.

I stayed up all night with her she kept crying and shaking,in the morning i still wasnt happy with her she couldt walk,so we took her back to the vet,she gave her an anaesthetic to make her sleep then she had an X-Ray,not good she had dislocated her hip she managed to put it back in place then after 6 hours i went back to pick her up:hyper: it was great to see her walking again.
She's got to keep taking the tablets and have compleat rest for a week:crazy: that is going to be hard. She can only go out for toilet and that has to be on a lead.
Bless her she's laying in her crate fast asleep hopefully she'll feel a bit better in the morning:sunny:

Sorry to go on i'll finish now just got to wait for the dirty stop outs to come home"i dont know fancy letting a 9 year old out this late when she has school in the morning" Tut Tut:teeth:

Poor Willow - perhaps she won't be too keen on those Biscuits again!

Get well soon Willow!

I hope your DD enjoyed the concert.

Aww poor Willow.

I know exactly what you mean about running round the garden at full speed with the tails between their legs. All 3 of my Labs do this :)

Glad you got her hip sorted out.

I hope willow is feeling better today, It must of been awful watching her go through that:(

I hope you DD enjoyed the concert too:Pinkbounc

Awwwww, poor Willow in pain like that until the vet realised, how awful! :(

Glad to hear she was 'sleeping it off' and hopefully is feeling better today - I'm sure she'll be running around like a loon all over again in no time at all though, LOL!

Poor Willow :( (and poor you, what a horrible experience!)

It sounds like she is on the mend now :)

Poor Willow, I hope she is soon better.
Must have been awful for you as well seeing her in such pain.
Love Sasha

Thanks for all your good wishes::yes::
Im pleased to say that she's a lot better today, it's been hard trying to keep her calm, she keeps fetching her toy's and wanting me to play Tug and Frisbee with her.

Im taking her back to the vet's on Friday for a check-up:D

DD and DH really enjoyed the concert DD said it was fantastic they were 10 rows back so had a great view 'V' and McFly were also there she was bouncing about on her dads shoulders:Pinkbounc for 3 hours,he was a bit sore this morning!
They got home just after 11pm,she came running in wearing her new Busted T-Shirt.
I had to wake her this morning at 8.25am,it's a good job we only live a 2min walk from the school:D

Thanks again:wave2:

:earsgirl:

Poor thing. I dislocated my knee years ago, and it's absolute agony. I'm sure it's hell for an animal as well. Hope she feels better soon.

Awh :( your poor doggy. Hope she's soon back on all four paws again and running about.

Woofs from Phoebe my Staffi. :)
