My best friend just got off the Magic yesterday and didn't have such a good trip report!!
In a nutshell:
* Waiter service was terrible. Took forever to get a drink, no refills.
* Food was mediocre at best. Not up to usual standard.
* Self sign out was/is a catastrophe. Unsupervised 8 year olds running around, being rude, parents not in sight.
* Bully in kids pool. Pushing kids, and holding them underwater. Lifeguard gave some warnings, but did not "ban" the kid from the pool. BFF's son has scratch marks all over his face.
* Lost power 2 times. Used back up lights for a few hours. No reason given.... late to port yesterday by a few hours. Yesterday saw black smoke coming from one of the engines.
* Resort Beach Break in Cabo was not run well. Family got left behind!
* Port of LA was terrible. Only one bus in at a time. Waited on bus for over 40 minutes to get on the ship.
* Pre check in at DLR hotel was invalidated becuase of a system issue. Had to check in twice!
This was here 4th trip on DCL, so she was a bit disappointed and is not sure if she will return. That is not good news for a Cruise company that really has done well with repeat customers.
Don't get me wrong, they still had fun as a family and enjoyed relaxing.... but as she stated, she could do this for half the price on RCCL or Carnival..... Also stated that the Room Steward was fabulous as usual.
