Not a strong swimmer at Blizzard Beach??

We are thinking about going to Blizzard Beach, while we are on vacation this month. Our ds7 really wants to go, but he's not a very strong swimmer. He swims at home in our pool, but only under supervision and has been taking swim lessons, also. I am very nervous about letting him do a water slide that will dump in a pool of water. Have any of you brought kids, that weren't very good swimmers, to Blizard Beach? If so, which slides wouldn't you suggest doing?

My DD6 has been going to the water parks for the last few years. She's still learning to swim and therefore I have her wear a life vest on all the rides and in the lazy rivers. I let her take it off in the kid's area. Both parks have vests available-for free!

My DD even enjoys going down some of the slides by herself. Of course, I am waiting at the bottom for her-I always go first. Your son should be fine-just get the life jacket.

Thanks. Sometimes, it seems that I'm the big chicken when it comes to things like this. We will use the life vests and he should be fine.

We just went to Blizzard Beach a few days ago. My kids are 6 and 8. I would say they are not strong swimmers, but they did fine The 6 year old wore a life vest most of the time, and so did the 8 year old when going down single rider slides. The wave pool at BB is a lot calmer than the one at Typhoon Lagoon btw
