I am thinking about buying points from a DVC member for a three night stay in October and I have a few ?.

If I want to stay at the BCV, do I have to rent from someone who's home is at the BCV or can anyone make a reservation for me there? And does the time of year make a difference who I can rent from.

How far out should I be thinking about making reservations for the first weekend in October. Is this a quiet time of year, or will it be dificult to find availability?

If you have 58 points that will be good for October 8,9,10 and you want to sell them please send me a PM or email me at f7prez@iwon.com

Thank You

For October, a BCV member could reserve for you now. Another other resort member would have to wait until March (7 months). The Food & Wine Festival at Epcot starts October 1 this year, so I would starting looking now. The Epcot resorts book up fast during the festival.

Honestly, you would be better off booking the room and paying cash. Weekend points are pretty high and it looks like a studio will be 63 points for the weekend that you are looking for. You can probably get a cheaper room just going direct.

Book early. BCV is very popular and books fast at certain times of the year. :wave2:

RM is incorrect at 63 points. You are correct at 58 points (23+23+12). However she does offer sound advice....compare a direct cash price versus DVC points. At a typical $10/point you're looking at about $580 and you may be able to do better than that. When comparing, keep in mind that with points it's a final cost, but any reservation through CRO will also require an additional tax.

Good Luck

It is a better deal if I buy the points rather than make a reservation through CRO. Unless DVC members get a great discount it would be $329 a night... Ouch.

So, if someone has the points for sale I need to reserve a studio at the BCV for October 8, 9, 10.

Thank you for all your input.

If that is your decision, than I think you should look for points directly from a BCV owner and ASAP! The Food and Wine festiva is VERY popular, and BCV and BWV are popular resorts for that event because they are so close to Epcot where all the F&W action is.
