Okay I rarely complain especially in regards to a vacation - BUT AM I MAD!

Called this AM for an Illuminations cruise and was told I DON"T HAVE A RESSIE - not at any WDW resort - WELL upset after call checked DVC.com and my ressie is there but with a Different (by one number) ressie number so I call back and still they don't have me - They currently Have many people working on it as I sit on hold - anyone else every have this problem?
I'll let you all know the outcome. Hoping to be found:)

Hi All,

Just got off the phone with MS and was told by CM that The 407 939 dine # or rec #'s WILL NOT HAVE THE DVC RESSIE # - and to call MS to utilize the 90 + 10. He stated that the new dining system was supposed to make it seamless btwn systems but has been anything but and he couldn't book anything for me at that minute because the dining system was down and there was no est time given to when it would be back up.

GOOD NEWS THOUGH got an Illuminations cruise for August 24th this AM just told them when asked if I was staying on property "no" otherwise I feared that they would not be able to find said ressie and I would be back at square one.

Just very happy that in fact we have our ressie:banana:

Yeah I called back about an hour after I made the reservation to add something and they could not find me in the system???????

I was a reck because this is Thanksgiving week and did not want to get lost!

It took a long time and being on hold but they found us.I was not happy.

Linda

good luck :) and keep us posted. I know I would not be a happy camper either

Well I still do not exist in the system - a supervisor spoke with me and told me my best option is to notify DVC tomorrow(as they have the holiday today) - I called AKL and No we are not in their system either although I knew we wouldn't be because DVC ressies are not sent to the resorts until 10 days prior to arrival.

Okay so my DVC ressie now does me no good to be able to book all my request (dinners, cruise etc) because not in the general system so I have to book these request day to day:confused3

So DVCers DON'T get free dining or the 4/3 deal and now it seems I can't even make ressies for things like someone staying at a non DVC WDW resort could:confused:

We pay annual dues and such and it seems to me we are getting nothing more than the roof over our heads in return.

Really thinking of selling our DVCs after all current booked vacations are finished(have some w/renters)

Truthfully it just upsets me:sad1:

Honestly with the discounts Disney is offering for WDW makes the DVC not as an attractive option (financially). I am sorry you are going through this. For such a large company they are very disjointed and have trouble communicating with each other. I never book anything besides the rooms with the DVC operators and the magical express. Good luck with your decision making.

I have a weird problem, too. A few yeas ago, something happened in the Disney computer system, and now they have my family, my brother's family, and my parents all mixed up. They think that my family lives with my parents, my brother's family lives with me, and I am not quite sure where they have my parents. They even have the kids mixed up, as they always think that my kids are my brother's kids. The crazy thing is that have been told by several cast members that it cannot be fixed. That's right, it cannot be fixed. So, whenever we go to Disney, they apparently can clean up the info for that particular reservation, but once we get home and try to call for the next reservation, it all goes back to the default - which is all messed up.

Something similiar happened to us a few years back. They changed our address to one in Rome GA and we live in MA!! All our mail (confirmations, dues, magazine etc.) was being sent to GA. It took me a good 6 months to finally straighten up the mess and we never got our magazine we missed!!!

As for the deals Disney is offering those that dont' own DVC, surely make it worth it not to own DVC.

We are still going back this summer but no parks again this time. Passes are used up and just rather relax at the pool. Thinking of renting out our points after this summer trip and venturing away from Disney for a year or so.

I don't understand other WDW guest can now book all there ADR and attempt to get a cruise on day one of their vacation for the WHOLE vacation I believe through the end of August. Seems this gives them all an advantage over DVCers - If I need to call day to day but another was able to book from today through the end of their vacation this does GREATLY decrease our chances of obtaining the elusive Illuminations cruise and even the very few ADR's we wish to make.

This was to be a very special vacation for us

1. Our 8 y/o nephews 1st trip
2. My surviving Leukemia - I had A bone marrow transplant in Sept and thank you GOD I am in remission - no sign at all of leukemia in my marrow and I seem to be doing better everyday.

So as I look at this guess just being here is the greatest gift I could receive:goodvibes

But still emailed MS the following as It would eat away at me if I did nothing until tomorrow when they re open and I still will call at 9am.

Hi

I have a reservation for AKV jambo house 2 bdrm L/O SAV view arrival 8/23/2009 and departing 8/28/2009

Its on this site, and I have the paper confirmation plus I have printed out this ressie today to have proof it is there.

When I went to call to attempt an Illuminations cruise and gave them my ressie # it did not exist? They even had a supervisor check all possible means of finding this reservation through what she called "THE BACK DOOR" and still no reservation.

So is it now my understanding that the only thing my ressie # from DVC is good for is to check in?

ALL non dvc WDW guest staying on property seem now to have an advantage over me as they DO NOT NEED TO BOOK DAY TO DAY!
DVCers do not get free dining nor the 3/4 deal - no daily mousekeeping and yet for the amount of dues we pay on our contracts I could stay off site at Windsor Hills 3 times a year and still have money in my pocket.

This was to be a very special vacation - My nephews first trip and a celebration that I have SURVIVED leukemia - But if other WDW guest can book further than we can it of course GREATLY decreases the chance of obtaining a wanted ADR or cruise.

I am highly disappointed with DVC at this moment which I have never been in all the years I have been a Member.

Thank You for listening
Sadly an unhappy client

Thats not to harsh or mean is it?

Deep breathe Sue,
I say this not to in anyway make light of this problem but because I know when I begin to get mad, every little thing begins to tick me off, next thing I know I'm snapping at every one over every little thing.

So I'm going to play that "pain in the @#$ optimistic" person, we all want to strangle because they are so darn happy.

1) This has happen to me before and after a little inconvienence my ressie were found. when you call tomorrow, MS will make it all right.

2) Alot of DVc'er don't want free dining (I hate what the ddp has done to Disney dining and wish it would go away) and every time you hear the word free say to yourself rack rates!!
Right now Disney is not making any money, hence the great deals. You don't think they are doing this out of the goodness of the hearts. I'm willing to bet in a year or two when we go back to our spending, charging, low employment ways, you can bet those deals will be far and few between.
A dvc purchase is for the long run.

Quick question: Why do you need your reservation to book the illumination cruise? I did this one while staying off site a few years ago so I just informed the cm that I was not an onsite guest and proceeded to book with a cc.

Not mean but I would cut out the part about Windsor Hills. As a former complaint department manager at Sears, the shorter the better. People always say how much they spend or make in complaints which usually has nothing to do with the problem.

State the problem (lost ressies) and the effects of the problem (lots of stress due to problem).

Remember when you purchased the DVC it was not for the perks. Complaining about 3/4 and free dining is really not Disney's fault as you still have the option to book these things if you want.

This sounds like another tech issue. I continue to be appalled at the pathetic computer technology that Disney thinks is acceptable. For a company that has earned its ears by proclaiming quality, it makes no sense that Disney refuses to deal with their third rate technology. It is far and away my biggest gripe with my DVC membership.
Good luck, OP. I totally understand your frustration.

I can book day to day but if you have a working reservation number you can now book all your ADR's and if you wish attempt to book a cruise for the entire stay - no day to day call in at the 90 day window.
So today all persons w/ressie could book from August 23rd through I believe the recording stated August 31st. So tomorrow when I attempt to obtain an ADR or cruise all persons that had a working ressie starting on the 23rd of August could book their entire list of wants or at least attempt to.

I really don't want free dining just seems that sometimes DVC puts me off level playing ground with other guest - just want the same advantage as those guest I guess

I am much calmer now - sent the email got my thoughts out on this board and I REALLY know we will have a FANTASTIC TIME - we truly LOVE WDW.

AND with a little luck MS will figure this all out tomorrow - Guess we are spoiled as we have never had issues with any DVC vacation before:)

Thank you all for listening it has helped:goodvibes

Sorry you're having these troubles. I have two recommendations.

First, I would call. Do NOT depend on the email, because it may be a couple of days before anyone even looks at your email and every day that goes by limits their ability to straighten out their mess.

Second - lose the complaints about free dining, 3/4 and Windsor Hills. There is no rational reason why any of us should expect free dining or 3/4 -- plus we ARE eligible. All we have to do is book it through CRO. The Windsor Hills comment is going to do nothing but make them less eager to help you. You have a very legitimate complaint -- don't water it down with irrelevent comments that only weaken your position.

Illuminations Cruise bookings do not require an on site resort reservation.

Here is a LINK to the information on the DIS regarding where to call, how to book, etc. Note that it is not the same place where you make ADR (WDW-DINE).

Good luck!

I totally agree with Jim. Those complaints have nothing to do with your reservation difficulty and it's unrealistic to expect that Disney will offer them to members. It's kinda like complaining that your Hummer isn't getting Prius gas mileage. ;)

Maybe you should try to get everyone annual passes at the DVC rate. ;)

I'm sorry about your frustration with them not being able to find your reservation - I'm sure that will get worked out when MS opens.

But I don't understand the other complaint about the advantages for cash guests booking dining reservations - that's not true - it's just true for you, today, because of the lost reservation problem. Frustrating, yes, I agree, but it's still just an isolated problem not a systemic "unfair to DVC members" thing.

I hope they get it all worked out for you tomorrow.

I didn't mean to sound owed anything in my post - just venting - Sorry if I have offended anyone - it was not my intetion - sometimes how things come across on the boards well doeasn't translate well.

I now have a ? though - so with our DVC ressie # we CAN book all our ADR's and attempt a cruise from the first day of our stay for the entire vacation?

Again I was Just venting I got it off my chest and its done.
Thank you

You can make ADR's 90 days out from the meal date, no matter where you are staying. Disney's not proud; they'll take anyone's money...even if they're staying offsite. :scared1:

The only extra benefit for staying onsite, as far as ADRs go, is that you should get the 90+10...which means you can call 90 days out from your arrival date and also get ADRs for ten days after arrival. However, not all of the availability is there for +10 reservations, so if you can't get ADRs +10, you'll still stand a good chance exactly at 90 days. Back when we used DDP, I never was able to get much during the +10 period, but I always got my ADRs during the regular period if I was calling right when my window opened.

I don't know about the Illuminations cruise because we've never done it, but from the previous post I guess you can go ahead and book that as well.
