I started WW two weeks ago and have been faithfully counting my points. I have never been so motivated to this before. I had a great first week with my first WI at 7lbs lost. This past week, my second on the program, I continued to follow like the first week. So why is it that when I got on the scale this am that I've GAINED 3 lbs!? I've been walking at least 2 miles a night on my treadmill and have started, somewhat, to try out a Pilates tape. Now, I know that Aunt Flo visted last week and that the Bloat Fairy must've snuck in my window, but 3lbs!?

Anyone have any thoughts or motivation for me. I'm pretty depressed today. :(

First of all, {{{HUGS}}}. Second of all, we've all been where you are now. Thirdly, I went to New Orleans in February. I never got off plan, ever. When I got home after a week away I weighed 7 pounds more than I weighed the week before.

Wanna trade? The bloat fairy seem to like you much more than he/she likes me.

We are cursed with water weight. Please look at it like that. If you stuck to the plan there is no way you could have gained anything but water. Sometimes I gain 3 pounds overnight. Happened last week when I went down to 129 for two days...been at 130-131 since then...really bummed me out :( Still bothering me...

You keep at it. You will see it come off. Just keep drinking your water and sticking to your points. BIG {{{HUGS}}}

Oh, I am sorry to hear you are feeling a bit depressed! Hang in there! Seems like we all have a love/hate relationship with the scale! :(

You are doing everything right! It must have been a fluke! All that walking is GREAT for you!!! Keep focused on what you are doing to get where you want to be - in the end, you will make it to your goal and you'll feel GREAT about where you are!!! I know it!!!!

Wish I had some magic words that would help put a smile back on your face. All I can think of to say is hang in there. WW works, and you know it because you had a great loss your first week. Sticking to the program, walking and doing pilates, you can't get any better than that!!! I know you will see a loss next week. You are really being good to your body! Think of all the healthy foods you are eating. All the oxygen that is flowing through your body when you walk on the treadmill. You are working your legs, your heart, your lungs. :) Everything is just getting healthier and healthier! Keep it up with the pilates. It will get easier as time goes along, trust me!!! When I first started, I was really wobbly and didn't have much control. Yesterday my DH tried the 20 min pilates workout with me and he was in the same boat (while I had lots of control!) ;) It is hard, but it pays off in the end!!!!

Don't focus on what the scale said today (I know that's easier said than done). Just have faith that what you are doing IS working and that you are well on your way to a new you!!! :)

Kim, I agree with the others that this must just be water. That darn bloat fairy!!! :(

You are doing all the right things. Your body can't help but respond. I'll bet you will see very different numbers when you have your next WI. Keep up the good work!

Maybe your scales are off. I weighed myself 3 times today in one hour, because I have a feeling my scales are off. In those three times I had A) lost 10 pounds B) lost 6 pounds C) lost only 4 pounds.
Crazy scales! I'm just going to go by how I feel for a while, then weigh in at the doctor's office.
I hope you are feeling better! :)

Don't worry about the gain. We've all been there. There could be many factors....

Did you get in all your water this week?

Did you have more carbohydrates this past week than the week before? You can stay in points for any given week but depending on what you ate will impact your efforts.

There could have been a problem with the scale.....is it electronic, maybe it's time the batteries were changed;) ...is it a scale like the ones at the doctor's office, there could be human error.

Just focus on this brand new sparkling week ahead of you

:smooth:

TAKE MEASUREMENTS!!!!

I had a similar let down- I lost 5 lbs on the week I did my Alex Challenge (thanks Alex!) but the following week- even with being VERY GOOD on my diet and exercise I lost NADA!! But thanks to Katholyn I did have measurements and had lost 2.75 inches the week I lost no weight. And I kept weighing everyday after that (a NONO) because I thought for sure the weight would drop and some days I weighed 1-2 pounds more!!! UGH! But the measurements didn't lie and my clothes are looser.

Don't get discouraged- when you bump up your exercising- your body needs about 3-4 weeks to adjust to the change- it will add water and store up to help your body- once it realizes this is a continuous life change your body starts letting that go. Keep up your exercise and drink lots of water- I've found lemon or cranberry juice spritzed in my water helps with ward off retention. Good luck and look forward to seeing that exercise pay off!!!

I've been where you are too. Please stick with it, I know you can do this! :)

[[[Hugs]]] Stick with it again this week and when your bloating has gone see how you do :D

Hope that you are feeling better, Kim. Remember to drink your water!

the cool thing about a 3 lb water weight gain is that you can lose it so quickly! I'm like Kath- I have gained 10 lbs over night because of the bloat fairy ... but hvae lost it just as quickly. Don't let this delay you in sticking to your plan. It is only water- and it will come off! Keep drinking all thew ater you're supposed to- thaht will help! HANG IN THERE!!

for all of your kind words and tips. I feel a little bit better now and will drink all of my water:p . I fell of plan a little last night because I'm a down eater, but I'm right back on track now. I have to keep it in perspective. This is only the second week and I have a lot of ups and downs ahead of me.

I'm so glad I found you guys;) . You're the best.

I've been there as well...Try not to worry about it and please don't give up...We are all here for you to support you!! Hugs!!
