Not a fan of fastpass return times

Just got back from 5 days in the park my only complaint is fastpass return times.
I know this is how it works return between these times but I use to love collecting them up and then using them.

Sometimes we got side tracked and missed the window. They did let us use soaring passes Ann hour after time was up but it was frowned on


We did star tours 3 times and got the same one all 3 times I thought that was strange we finally got different ones after the first 3 times.

Trip was great used a lot of single rider lines since wait times were horrible. Works out well if your party doesn't mind riding with someone else. Radiator springs, California screamer and splash mountain were the ones we did single rider.

Stayed at desert inn and suites just regular 2 queen beds it worked for us I've stayed there before.

The return times are there because you are virtually waiting in line. Don't like them, don't use FP.

I'm not a fan of the return times either. But give me that system any day over the mess they have down at WDW now with FP+.

I personally am glad they started enforcing the window. They give you an hour to get on the rides it's called traffic control. I didn't even realize people were ignoring that and just coming when ever they wanted. Disney should have put the stop to that a long time ago and enforced the time.

Nobody knows the answer to that. I personally don't see how they can put it into DLR given the high AP base and lack of existing FP return lines (or room to add FP return lines).

My guess though is that if they can work out the kinks in WDW (big if in my book) and it results in increased per-guest spending, they'll find a way to give it a try.

I do think we have a while though while they work out all their kinks.

Going to have to echo this. I've never had an issue with returning between the allotted time the FP gives me. You plan around that as opposed to getting side tracked. The only reason why I'd say it's understandable that you didn't make it in time was because of ride break downs or other general emergencies. But if you don't know what time the parades start or how long lines are going to be for other rides, then don't complain about having to return to another ride because you couldn't manage your time. The system and policies are there for a reason.

I've been working (and it is work) on a WDW for next year, and noticed some of my DLR dining reservations from last year appear under "Past Items" in the My Disney Experience app (iPad).
It seems that at least some elements of My Disney Experience will likely be coming to DLR.

At Disneyland Paris the return windows are only 30 mins. Which still is better than the awful FP+ at WDW.

I'd much rather operate in the old "times aren't enforced" days but I'll take the "best of the worst" for now.

This last trip was our first since the FP enforcement. I admit I'd been nervous that we'd have long waits or returns that couldn't be used. I have to say it all went very, very smooth. We pulled maybe half a dozen sets of FPs in a four day trip and never waited more than 20mins (and we chose to do that) for any ride. As a PP mentioned, knowing show times and planning meals accordingly helps. When the subject of enforcement first came up I was firmly on the side of *when* the passes were used didn't make a difference but after this trip my view has changed and I think it's actually evened out wait times across the board. This was probably our smoothest trip ever, we didn't pull many FPs because we didn't *need* to.

(WDW Vet)Just got back from DL last night and while I love going back to paper FPs, I still dislike the return time enforcement. Many times there was not enough we wanted to do in an area, we are not big shoppers, so have no desire to stay in one area. We found ourselves trekking back and forth a lot. For example, we walked all the way to Splash, the wait was 90 minutes. We pulled a FP for 90 minutes later. We rode Pooh and then was trying to figure out where to go since we had done a lot in the area. Normally we would wander back later in the day when it was convient. Now we were rushing back to get to the window and didnt want to wander too far.

At DL right now and haven't run into any issues with FP so far. If the return isn't what I want I wait a bit and return for a later time. If I need an earlier time I try and get there earlier the next day. It takes some planning but it's worth it. I got on splash mountain in 15mins or so when the wait was 85mins +

I am happy they are being enforced. People should be happy they even have them. I can remember going before they had passes at all. We love them!

I will cry if they try to bring FP+ to DLR. Well maybe not, but will be very disappointed. We are going to get APs at DLR BECAUSE of FP+, I had a 10 day long WDW vacation planned for this Thanksgiving week and there was no way I was stepping foot into that mess.

I agree! We never even knew that you could show up whenever so when it was being enforced it wasn't an issue. We get important fast passes and plan accordingly. Sometimes we miss the window and thats our fault! If we get sidetracked and know that we won't return in time we try to give them to another family so they dont go to waste. No big deal! We just go with the flow!

That's been happening for at least a year (maybe longer). I remember the reservations that I had for DLR Race weekend last year showed up in MDE. Granted, they were 3 hours off (and still are...I have some showing for this year's race weekend as well.) I thought it was funny back then because we couldn't make online reservations for dining last year.
