Does anyone else feel like they are going to SCREAM if they see the name Bush or Kerry again???

I don't feel that way.

I am pretty much leaning one way, but I appreciate the dialogue and the insights to the other side. The CB is a great forum for people of different values and opinions to share, and I do learn a lot from it. :)

I'm tired of all of the talk... here, friends, news... living in Ohio right about now really sucks! Normally I don't mind a friendly debate or two, but I am really tired of the crap we are stuck with during a presidential election year. Less than 2 months to go, and I won't have to see it for another 4 years :teeth:

A class mate of mine is running for U.S. senate in Wisconsin. His first commercial that came out just made me cringe. It wasn't downrite lies, but he sure bent his lifestyle commercial around the bend.

I just started laughing and said, I could call up the media, but why, everyone does stupid things when they are in highschool and college.

I did notice he doesn't run that commercial anymore and he changed the way he stated his years in the Army Ranger.

I guess I give the guy credit, he has the money why not go for it.
I hope he does make it, but people in Wisconsin tend to be like the cows, "creatures of habit", Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl keep getting reelected every year.

I'm absolutely sick of it. I hit the mute button (or fast forward if I'm watching something on Tivo) anytime either party's commercial comes on. And I've been doing that for months.

Part of me wants to vote for "None of the above" (anyone remember the movie, "Brewster's Millions"? :))

I'm also completely amazed at how intense the hatred is on both sides for both candidates. Seems much worse this year than I've ever seen it.

i'm not tired of politics. i'm getting my master's in it after all. :o :p

i am tired of "politics" here on the dis. the political threads here recently have been driving me crazy, so much so that i hardly open them anymore. it's like the same handful of people syaing the same thing over and over. if we actually talked about interesting political things here, i would be all over that.

LOL - I can TOTALLY relate. Minnesota's become a hotly contested state too. It seems like Bush, Laura Bush, Cheney, Kerry and Edwards all take turns visiting the state about once a week (or does it just feel like that?). Ug.

I would have to disagree. I think that no matter who wins, there is still going to be diagreements.

Nope, not tired of it. I'm a voter registrar and so being involved is something I do. I watch MSNBC, Fox News, CNN. I am a very active member of an online political discussion forum, although for some reason that site is having server problems and I'm going through withdrawls. I *try* not to particiapte in political thread here because I don't like mixing Disney and Politics.

I don't like the political threads on the DIS because they always turn into fights. I don't really like watching political stuff on TV either because it gets kinda boring. My dad on the other hand is obsessed with politics. It gets kinda scary when he watches something that talks about Kerry or any other Democrats because he gets really mad and starts cursing at the TV.

Nope! I'm just glad to live in a country where we get a choice.

On the plus side it's only once every 4 years. Maybe the Founding Fathers had a smidge of concern for our national sanity.

Oh I know that... but I won't have to be hounded daily on TV with commercials, comments on the news and the candidates coming to the state nearly every single week. Trust me, it gets way old, really quick around here. At least it won't be blaring in my face the way it is right now. Living in a swing state with a fair amount of electorial votes really sucks during the elections. You cannot escape it no matter what you try to do.

I keep getting phone calls from pollsters: "If the election were held tonight, who would you vote for?" Well, the same person I would have voted for yesterday!

I'm very sick of the way it goes on.

One side says one thing, the other side attacks and then vice versa. You don't know what to believe because one side calls the other a liar. Then one side shades the truth or makes excuses.

I don't know what to belive. And I see more and more sarcasm these days on the political threads and less insight.

I enjoy them. It's been fun watching the race from PA, everybody's visiting us.

Fortunately for me, neither candidate feels the need to advertise in my state, so I'm not feeling suffocated by the ads. I must admit that the negative mud-slinging has gone too far though. Neither Kerry's war record and anti-war activities 30 years ago, nor Bush's failure to report to service in the National Guard, means a hill of beans. Who among us would like to be judged by our behavior as a 20 year old??

Both camps should move on to more urgent and pressing issues -- though I'm sure the media could care less about either side's position on the economy, healthcare, international affairs, etc. The media is out for the TABLOID story. I find THAT something to scream about.

You should have tried getting around NYC last week! Ugh.

Doesn't bother me. I just don't open the political threads (well, except for this one, but you lured me into it by not posting it in the title, lol).

Good point... I'd rather put up with the constant mudslinging than suffer with a dictator any day.

I love having the right to vote; I just don't like the way campaigning is done in this age.
