hiya, we are heading to WDW at the end of march with our kiddos. DD1 is 3.5... so has to get the dining plan. but she is super tiny and basically eats like a bird. i kind of hate the idea of ordering her a full meal that she wont eat. we never order her kids meals when we go places cause she just picks at tiny portions of whatever we have.

is there some way that isn't a waste for an eater like this? i know we can trade desserts for snacks...at counter service anyway... we did that last time for us. although the desserts, she will probably be keen on...
i think the kid food is like all hot dog type stuff so i guess we can't exactly do something like...we order the kid food, but one of us really eats it... and then the two adults share one meal... or something???:confused3

She doesn't have to get the dining plan. You can just pay for her out of pocket.

I totally understand you on this one. I have the same situation with my son. I figured what he doesn't eat I will box up and put in the soft sided cooler to put in the fridge at nap time, then if Daddy gets hungry later he has a snack :) Thus killing two birds with one stone, the under eating toddler and the over eating daddy LOL

Yeah, we brought a little snack cooler last time and always brought back leftovers. Hopefully the kid stuff is leftover-able. Maybe pizza would be the best bet in that case!

you could always use her CS meals for you to get breakfast, the kids portion may not be enough for a grown man but most woman should be fine with the portion.

Well, that's a pretty sexist statement. ;)

I really don't think it is that much food on the kids dining plan, especially for the price (meaning only $10-so a good deal even just for the drinks and snacks). I have a 3 year old too who normally eats off my meals at home, but does really well on the dining plan. To be honest, I encourage her to eat more.

oh, i can totally out-eat my dh.. but i don't think the kiddie food is stuff either of us are that into.. i remember it being a whole lot of mac n cheese type stuff.

For CS meals we will totally just order our own and then save hers for breaky (mickey waffles!).

what about TS meals though? do we have to order her something?

And what about buffets - does she HAVE to order something? or can she just share some of ours. she will literally eat practically nothing but i dont want to get in 'trouble' lol.

No, on the buffets you will HAVE to use a credit or pay since she is 3. I would just order her a TS meal as usual, she can pick at that if nothing else and you can eat all your food. To be honest, since the DDP no longer includes an appetizer it is much easier to finish your meal.
