Anyone sailed on the Escape in that room? I know some rooms have the couch near the door and some have it near the balcony. We prefer it near the balcony. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

And your reviews of the ship would be great, too. We're sailing to Bermuda from NYC

Check on cruisecritic.com. Go to their message boards for Norwegian Cruise Line and you will find everything you ever wanted to know (and more)!

They have changed their site and I really miss the old format. Searching and finding things on there now seems like too much work and a lot of searches don't bring up the results you would expect.

So instead of searching the CC forums, post this question there.

And/or ask if again, but on the DIS cruise forum.

the CC forum is just fine. (TA is the one that sucks....)
Anyhow, just go there, click 'BOARDS'... CLICK NCL... and do a search on 10280. (On Princess, the number would be preceded by the Letter that corresponds to the deck... on NCL I am assuming that this would be deck 10, room 280)

Also, actually post and ask the question on that forum.

I've been a Cruise Critic member since 2000. Yes, they changed the format of the boards but it's easy to get used to it. I still love their forums and get a lot of good information from the site. We have a cruise booked on Royal's Oasis of the Seas and I'm really enjoying reading all the reviews, and clicking on any thread pertaining to that ship. OP, go back to Cruise Critic and give the board another chance, you'll get used to it as did everyone else there. :)

We sailed the Escape in August 2017 with a party of 10 and we all agreed it was a fantastic ship! Food and service were the best we've had on a cruise ship. There's so much to see/do you can almost make the ship your destination.

None of us had that cabin, but DH and I had a balcony with the couch near the balcony door and DD had one with the bed closer to the door. We both agreed that we liked the layout of DD's room more. DH and I said it was the first time that we felt like we were tripping over each other in a cruise ship cabin. With the couch near the balcony door there's only a small space between the bed and the closet and the end of the bed and the wall. We both thought it was a very poor layout.

Thanks. I had a long conversation with a nice rep and we got the rooms straightened out. Sorry I posted on the wrong thread. And no, I still don't like the new CC layout.

For those who might want their couch near the verandah, the reps have room schematics that you can't see online. Apparently those room configurations are mostly in categories BB, BC and BE on the Escape. When we sailed on the Breakway we didn't have to worry about this as all the rooms were the same LOL.

Great instructions on how to look it up on CC! :thumbsup2

Somehow my simple question about people's experience on this site with Norwegian Escape turned into a debate about the virtues of Cruise Critic. I've resolved my issues with the room. Thank you all.

We had connecting balconies on the Breakaway, they were different.

No, I have not sailed on the NCL Escape.

I would not put complete faith in what a reservations tells you. That person may well be using the website and seeing the sample cabin picture(s).

I always do a Google search on the ship/cabin number to see what info I can find.
