Norway Magic 6/6/2015

If JSMom is willing, I think it would be a good idea to put things like planned events, reminders about PIF dates and online booking dates, roll calls, FE information, etc. on the first post of this thread so it is easy to access and doesn't get lost in what looks like is going to be 100s of posts.

This will be our 6th Disney cruise and while I don't claim to be an expert in any way, I do have a little Disney blog all my own and have written a complete trip report of our Mediterranean cruise on the Magic in 2013. I also have posts about Fish Extenders and Door decorations if anyone is new to that and needs info.

We just emailed our travel agent to get us on this cruise too! We've been to Denmark, Finland (twice), Estonia (twice), Russia, and Sweden and fell in love with that part of the world. We are very excited to visit Norway this trip.

I am seriously considering defecting from the 9 night for this one. I see my DD almost 7 now will have some girls of similar age to play with. I also am not on Facebook so would love to not miss out as I have on previous cruise meets. :) I can save a lot of $ for same 9C or move up to verandah for same cost. Any thoughts? Why did you choose this one over the 9 night?

For us it was just the timing. Since just DD and I are doing this trip we have to plan around our family vacation.

No problem at all! Just send me a PM in case I miss a post.

On this cruise too, doing B2B2B2B. My roommate is Mickey&JoshNut (Elaine from Canada).

I wonder, how will the formal/semi-formal nights work? And the dining rotations? Will they be the same as stateside 7 night cruises?

It will be a blast to be on the ship that length of time. The longest I have been on before these cruises is 28 nights. I did not want to get off either. I could have stayed longer!

I don't know what the technical term is, but you know when you get off the ship and you still feel like the room is swaying. Well, in my house, we call that "cruise head." We have only been on 3 night and 4 night cruises thus far and both times, my youngest got off the ship and had "cruise head" for at least two nights.

We were laughing when we thought about how long we were going to have "cruise head" after 30 days!! :rotfl2: Samantha (9) is guessing 2 weeks.

I will get home and be upset that there are no chocolates on my pillows and towel animals in my room and no one else is going to make my bed for me.

I bet Disney won't know the rotation for awhile. I'm sure they will still have a formal and semi-formal night. I think they still do Pirate night (I think it's only Alaska that doesn't but with sunset so late, I don't know). I'm guessing with only 2 sea days that there won't be a character breakfast.

Great we are going to Copenhagen 3 days early maybe can have a meet up before cruise. Our last cruise we had several flying into Houston the night before and met up at the airport Marriot hotel lounge and had a great time. They are the friends I still have.

They usually are sea days, so I guess it would be formal night Sunday. But it seems awkward to have semi-formal the last night when everyone is packing up. ..

Typically formal night is the first day at sea. Semi Formal night does not always fall on a sea day.

We are going early to Copenhagen maybe we can meet up before cruise ! How else is going early.

How is everyone dressing for 6/6. I have no idea what to pack. I think it will still be jeans and long sleeve shirt weather. Anyone know?

I'm dressing really warm, but I am always cold. My kids make fun because we could be walking Disney in 95 degree heat, but the wind blows and I have goose bumps all up and down my arms. :rotfl2:

I'll even bring gloves for my hands just in case. I am hoping for 60 - 75 degree, but I won't count on it. ;)

I usually wear longer skirts to dinner and long sleeve shirts with a fleece jacket, but the ships are always cold inside.

The Royal Caribbean link has an average temp for the month you are traveling.

Northern Europe is really cold that time a year. Summer hasn't started and the nights gets really cold. Bring a jacket and prepare for rain ;-)
