Welcome to the group

So, is ours the first ever sailing of the Norwegian Fjords for DCL?
during summer 2013, we sailed on DCL's first sailing into Venice (I think the ship was built or worked on in Venice or something so this was a "return" of sorts, but still very significant in the history of the ship)... anyway, several times during our 12-night trip, we were surprised in our cabins with lovely gifts from DCL to commemorate the trip... a framed lithograph, a beautiful stained glass dish...
If this is DCL's first sailing through the Fjords, maybe we'll be treated to the same surprises?
We are going early to Copenhagen maybe we can meet up before cruise ! How else is going early.
I'll be there early! There are several people and we were thinking either Tivoli Gardens or a Canal Cruise.

I was on that same inaugural cruise to Venice in 2013. Those gifts were really fun to find in our stateroom. The glass dish is on a table in front of me now. It was such a fantastic cruise, wasn't it?
I am also hoping for some cool Norway Inaugural gifts.![]()
Now I am so excited!! I had no idea about the cool gifts for being the first ones there![]()
the_princess said:If some of you have more then one day in Copenhagen, we could also make a day trip to Elsinore and visit Kronborg castle (Hamlet's castle) Which I think is the most interesting castle in Denmark and then take the boat to Sweden and have lunch there. I have spend most of my childhood at summer school there, so I love it like my second home. It's such a beautiful and historic area.
How is everyone dressing for 6/6. I have no idea what to pack. I think it will still be jeans and long sleeve shirt weather. Anyone know?
We live in a pretty cold part of Canada, where the weather in Norway will be fairly similar to home, if not a bit warmer. (Norway is 4C to 8C warmer than us today.) That means you'll find us wearing shorts, skirts (me), and t-shirts. I think it will be perfectly comfortable weather by June! It may get cool at night, and trousers, long skirts, and long sleeves would be recommended. If you live someplace warm, you may want to bring warmer clothes like sweaters, mittens, and toques (winter hats).
We will check the weather a week before and make sure we have appropriate clothing. http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/
I hadn't registered that this was Disney's first Norwegian Cruise
As if I wasn't excited enough already !!!![]()
I am now looking up the ports of call and things to do, I think pulpit rock hike looks very nice.
This is actually on our agenda (the castle), stopping at Brakken on the way back. I think on Wednesday. You're welcome to join us.![]()
We're officially booked! We didn't know this was the first DCL trip to Norway either. How exciting! I wonder if the characters will have special costumes like they have for Alaska and Mexico. Super excited...
We're celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary in September 2015, but this will be our anniversary vacation, as I cannot get time off in September.
I might take you up on that. I love Elsinnore and Bakken is also a lot of fun in a very beautiful area.
