A co-worker was in WDW last week with her family, brother's and sister's family and parents. 3 of them wound up in the ER with vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration. The ER staff was avoiding their questions about the number of people in the ER that night, but one nurse admitted that they had 99 people seeking care for the same symptoms. They were all sick for 3 days. Makes you wonder. This must be one mean bug!

Good luck to all those heading down there!!!!

Dopey, I haven't heard anything "crisis" like about Norwalk here. Orlando does host about 1 million + a day visitors, so that # doesn't seem unreasonable. Like I said, haven't heard or been effected by it.

I think this bug is going around everywhere. MY DH and 2 DS's had the same type of virus last week. It was horrible. Lasts a couple of days.

I just read in the paper today that the same kind of virus is making its way through Florida. I hope it's gone in 3 weeks, but I won't count on it :(.

Thats interesting. A few days ago my sister was talking to to someone who had been in WDW last week. They had planned to stay for 3 days, but left after only 1 because they were seeing people projectile vomitting everywhere and couldnt take it anymore. I posted this on the Theme Park board and only one person saw others with this problem. The general consesus was that more people had coughs and colds.
Maybe there is something to this. I hope it stops soon!

YUCk, projectile vomitting , that changes my whole outlook on the happiest place on eart. YUCK!:(

I had thought it was only on cruises but I know someone who works at a medical clinic in Northern Wisconsin, and she said a school near them was closed because so many people were sick with the same symptoms.

Fishbone her on the DIS had the same thing this weekend. Her entire family caught it after exposure at Thanksgiving dinner. It's just going around :(

Here's to everyone staying healthy no matter where you live!

The virus is hitting everywhere!
We even had a hospital's ER room closed for a week before they were positive that the place was clean!

Everybody keep healthy!

Scratch:smooth:

Here in North Texas an entire school district was shut down yesterday for the rest of the week. It is a small school district and they had over 160 students out because of illness.

I guess the good news is that it only lasts 1-2 days. I think I'll read up on how to treat the symptoms before my trip ... just in case.

I know that this virus has also struck way up here in Canada too!:( There have been quite a few nursing homes and hospitals that are experiencing this virus and it seems like we're hearing about it more and more each day.:(
