Is is necessary to buy and install the new Norton Antivirus each year?
I have the 2003 version.
What does everyone else do? Is it too risky not to update?

Well in a word -- yes



If you don't continue to update your viruses, you will not have protection against any viruses which are created after your subscription runs out.

A good Firewall and a Good Virus Program are essential for any PC connected to the internet.

No and Yes. No, you don't have to buy a new edition, just pay for the year's worth of updates because yes, it is too risky to not update regularly. You can buy the year of updates from the website and configure the program to update everything automatically.

I have the Norton Anti Virus 2001 it has a subscritpion service on the main screen that tell how many days that have Norton Anti virus expire. Usually it will tell when to update it. I use to a credit card to update my service. It comes with a screen tell you when to update. When come with that screen it well tell everything need to update Norton Anti virus.

Do need to update Norton anti-virsus every year yes. I would tell truth that don't have a Norton anti virus, firewall, ad-ware, spybot, and spyware blaster. I would not get on the net because to risky

Can't imagine not. I have both Norton and Panda, both updated daily.

Actually, no. Smart surfing and a firewall would be good enough. Get you a free firewall and bam, no cost issues as far as virus/hackers are concerned.

Out of all my computer and internet years, never have I had to install antivirus software. Never had an infection.

Its all about being smart and not installing/clicking on everything you see.
