We are not visiting WDW/cruising DCL until early December, but I am anxious to get airfare booked and out of the way, since I have been keeping a close watch on prices rising lately :sad2: . Anyway, we can fly out of either Hartford or Providence and have used Song and SWA in the past, hence, enjoyed non-stop flights! :thumbsup2 Now I am shopping for both airports and find that the only non-stop service will be from SWA - no December pricing out for a few months yet (and unless I am fortunate enough to grab a DING, then their pricing is "just okay" as compared to previous business with them.)

I am tempted to book on Northwest, as I can get the five of us flying for a total of about $900, which is under my "trying to stick to" budget of $1,000 for airfare. (This is driving me nuts, as we flew SWA in Sept. to see Mickey and paid under $500 total!)...Anyway, just a potential Northwest newbie looking for some opinions/comments from anyone who has used their service in the past...Boarding, seat choices, on time, etc. Thanks so much! :)

We have flown NWA many times...their hub is in MSP where we fly out of. We always got great rates and had great direct service. Flights only changed my minutes, but we always booked at least 6 months in advance so that seemed resonable they would change some, but only changed once and again by minutes. I always checked online...not sure if we were ever notified of the change. I love to plan trips so am always checking everything twice.

Note that the pilots were considering striking about a week ago. They came up with a deal to settle, but not sure if they voted on this yet and make the settlement official. I would check around online for up to date news articles.

Otherwise, we could not hesitate to fly them again if the price was right.

NWA is all I have ever flown. I fly out of FSD into MSP and then onto my destination. I've had pretty good experience with them I guess. A couple of delayed flights due to weather but it's Minnesota so I can't complain too loudly. LOL! Good seat choices and boarding went very smoothly. Free drinks and a choice of purchasing a "pack" of snacks. Striking has been a concern before but I always was able to avoid that thankfully. :)

Thanks much for your comments :goodvibes I will try to keep a watch on the strike news though before I definitely make my decision... :wave2:

The NW potential strike has been averted.

Their customer service has really gone downhill over the years. However, it's a short flight from RI and the price of $900 RT for 5 people looks good to me. You can't get seat assignments until a max of 90 days before the flight on NWA though.

We flew NW out of milwaukee last february for our first trip to Disney. It was non-stop and for a very inexperienced family, non-stop was nice. (DH and I have only flown once before - mine being Non-stop milwaukee to LAX in 1992 if that's any indication of how inexperienced we are)

I found the airline to be very friendly and helpful. I have already booked our Christmas '06 flights to Disney with them. I cannot wait. Good luck to you!!!!

Update~Update:

Current price I have found for ALL 5 of us to fly Northwest (with connections in Atlanta both legs) is $881, including taxes and fees. :thumbsup2 Should I do it now? Should I? I am still wondering if I should hold out for non-stop with SWA, but that could drive me out of my mind waiting until July for their December pricing to come out...... :confused3

(P.S. Oops! Logged in on DH's account. :teeth: :confused3 This is really from "mommyrom" :wave2: )
