Hey everybody! I have been getting a bit excited about the cruise. This morning I found flights on Virgin Atlantic roundtrip JFK to London in something called "Premium Economy" class. Much less expensive than Business class. I know we are going to need some room for the long haul of the trip. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I also purchased four guidebooks: Barcelona, London, Paris and a guidebook for european cruises with lots of different ports. I went a little nuts! :upsidedow

Good to hear from you! With people dropping from our cruise I'm never sure who is still going.

Oh no, we are def here! I just looked at the list of cruisers and I think its down to 49 families? Thats too bad!
I saw your name on another thread and thats what made me say I had better check in! I'll be better!:)

Tammy, I haven't flown Virgin, but we've flown British Airways version of that. It was really nice. The extra legroom was a big plus. We didn't have to pay any additional for alcoholic drinks. Each seat had it's own tv screen with shows, movies and music stations.

I'm looking into British for next for next year.

Have flow this class from Gatwick to Vegas and back from Orlando and on that trip the Premium Economy has it's own small cabin upstairs and it is excellent would do that again. Excellent service and plenty of space and nice and quiet.

Tammy - As a Brit I use Virgin Atlantic for all my flights (they are usually much cheaper than British Airways & just as good).

I have used all variations - Economy, Premium Economy & Upper Class.....obviously Upper Class is the best, you can change your seat into a flat bed but it is much more expensive. Premium is a good compromise, we always try to reserve our seat in the pod upstairs, it is just for Premium Economy and has approx 40 seats.

JFK to Heathrow is maximum 7 hours & will pass by very quickly by the time you are served two meals & have lots of films to choose from to watch on your seat back screen.

Let me know if you have any questions. :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon Cruisers!

I am planning on renting tuxs just so I don't have to pack suits and shoes for 2 men and a boy. DD and I will probably wear the same thing if we do more than 1. At least our shoes can match other outfits and don't take up much room.

If you hate the inside cabin - don't tell me since we may have it on this cruise. I have 2 connecting cat 10's, but I also have a SPH cabin with the hopes that the connecting will open up. If not I'll have to decide if we should split up or not.

Scott actually was thinking that an inside room might not be bad on
this cruise because of the light nights - I think we will have more problems with the deck 2 than the inside room - we always take the stairs, and deck 2 to deck 10 will be a really long haul!

Hope everyone is surviving the winter weather that seems to be hitting everywhere. It was nice here today, but is supposed to snow tonight.

Have a great day!

Both of us are working too much, Oh well.

Evergreen is about 135 miles from us, just a good guess. as Denver is about 90 away.

We just got tickets to Spamalot, which will be in Denver May 13-17. 2nd time we have seen it, oh so funny.

My brother lives in Evergreen so I was wondering how far you were since you have mention the Denver airport before. Maybe you'll be in Denver for something if I decide to visit my brother this summer.

Did you hear that the Wonder is moving to LA when the new ship arrives at PC?

We come in on the 8th if you want to meet for dinner.

Hi Gydell... Unfortunately we head home on the 8th ... so we won't be able to make it. Where are you staying? We will be at Kidani at AKV ... Can't wait to see the new hotel!

Hello All,

Well, we just came back from our spring break trip to the ski slopes and to visit family. So I was catching up on the thread and read about all the people thinking about NCL and thinking hmmm....what would it be for the four of us?

We are currently booked in a cat 11 for $10566 and I can get an ocean view for $5772 with NCL. You should see what we can get if we pay the same as DCL! :scared1: We could essentially get a Cat 3 on NCL for what we are paying with DCL.

I know it wouldn't be the same experience with NCL; I went to cruisecritic and read reviews, etc. I also think the ship is hideous, but my son would love it as he is color blind.

As much as I love the Disney ship and dislike the casinos, etc. I can't justify an almost $5000 difference in price no matter what it is. I am hoping after everyone pays in full that there is another killer sale but I am afraid we are going to have to jump ship.

Hope you all have a wonderful time.

Thanks for all the responses on Virgin Atlantic and the premium economy. This might the route I go. Or, I might go coach and just buy and extra set to have more room.
