Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. I know it will all work out for the best. We get 22 months severce pay so we'll survive. One thing good about having so many years with the drug industry is we get medical and dental insurance for life with no fee for drugs. It's just weird looking at all the ones they laid off and most were in the top 20% of sales and above 50 years old. I know companies have to cut somewhere but it almost seems like they are cutting their own throat getting rid of their best salespeople. Dh has a couple of good leads already so hopefully before summer he will find something.

Bet wishes for the future, Gydell and good luck to your husband in finding another position... xxx

Oh, Gydell, I'm sorry it didn't turn out the way you were hoping. That said, it does sound like a very generous severence package which will give you a little cushion. Trust me, free medical and dental for life is HUGE! I hope everything works out for the best. :flower3:

WOW medical and dental that is huge, That is the issue that has kept me working and not retiring, For the two of us the cost would be about $1200 a month. Would you adopt Lynn and I. Good luck on the search for a new position.

Temps nice out today, but VERY windy - 30-40mph winds, so that makes it difficult to enjoy being outside! We did get business taxes done, still have personal taxes to do, and went shopping (we got wrong tax program, so had to go back to Sam's and pick up the right one before we could do the taxes!). Then went out to Harley shop for the free corn dogs, and Scott discovered another bike he would like, but it won't be in the store for another month or so!

We realized we can live almost as well on less money, and we pay less federal and state taxes. That alone surprised me.
Good luck with your search. We will be 64 and 63 this year and are still doing OK.

That is an interesting comment. Penny and I have been trying to figure out the next step. With the economy as it is and our 401K heading in the wrong direction, we are asking ourselves why we are still here and spending 2.5 hours a day commuting . :drive: So we are trying to decide whether to move to Florida to be near the grandkids or move somewhere that feeds our soul (so to speak) which is not central Florida. I will be 60 in a couple of months and Penny is a couple of years behind me and since we will be working for longer than we had hoped, it should be somewhere and doing something that we like. Now we just have to figure that out. :confused3

Very cute!! What kind of puppy is it?

I have been laid off more than once and always ended up, sooner or later, in a much better position. A good salesperson is a treasure to a company and I am sure that DH will land a great position!

It's a Maltese. He weights 2 pounds and will weigh between 4 and 5 pounds full grown.

I'm not too worried about the job. We may have to cut back a little but things won't change too much. Dh has leads already.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Cooler here, 20 degrees, but NO WIND:cheer2: :cheer2: . We are hoping to get out for walk/run later when it warms up a bit, as long as the wind does not kick up again!

Have a great day!

Morning cruisers,

It's thick snow here in London and, although we knew it was coming, the public transport system has come to a standstill so it's a day at home for me today.

Hope everyone is well.
