I was just checking on airfar to Pair and to Lonodn and found out that we can fly "to" Paris and then "from" London for the same price as a RT to either city.

So our latest plan will be to fly to Paris, spend 2 days there, then go up to Dover, get on the boat for 12 days, come back and take the train from Dover to London and spend a day or two there before flying home.

Anyone else doing this?

Better to do Paris on the front and London on the back end or the other way around or does it matter?

How much time would it take to get from Paris to Dover? Cost?

~Mike

We are doing this as well but probably 4-5 days in Paris first. We have used split tickets before and this is one of the few nice things airlines allow still.

I think I read somewhere that Dover isn't too far away from the entrance to the Chunnel so you could just take the Chunnel train over to Paris if you wanted to do Paris on the end of the trip.

Thought I would pop in and say Hi to everyone. Spent a beautiful weekend in Norther Ontario at a Scrapbook Retreat. Still working on my Repo and Med Cruise books! Hope to have at least one finished by the time we go to the Baltic!!

Question: how does one go about doing a search for a "split" ticket? What sites do you use? I generally search using kayak.com, but wouldn't know how to do it for a split ticket. Starting in March, delta will be offering non-stop flights from Raleigh to Paris so this is something that could work for me.

When it ask for round trip, one way, or multi cities, choose multi cities.

I found it on the Continental site under Multiple Mestinations tab.

I'm excited about this. I figure airfare alone is gonna run 4 Rogillio's about $4,000 to $6,000 so we want to maximize our time across the big pond seeing as much as we can see.

Hi everyone Peter here...

(Doing WELL)

Just wanted to check in, I have enjoyed all the post from across the pond..;)

We are very excited about this trip..

How many others think DCL will lower the price of the trip...:goodvibes

and or open up cat 12 (that they have not sold) for some sort of lower cruise price.

I think the bad times here in the US will force them do do something..
as I dont see the cruise being sold alot.?

$8300.00 in cat 11 for a 12 night cruise is alot of money !!! (opening day)
PLus Air...:scared1:

Hey Peter!!!! Glad to see you're doing well. Hopefully getting back to yourself.

Hopefully we'll still see you on this trip. Unless the economy does a major turn around I think they'll have to offer some sort of discount. Most people just won't be willing to put that much toward a trip when it can go toward other things here at home.

We did try for concierge (and still are, cost will still be a factor), but IC threw me a curveball and did things differently than they did for the Med. It's hard to be specific about what you want when you fax in the request almost a year before booking opens up and you have no idea where the ship is even going.

Who is the thief??? I want my banners back! Just deliver them to their home and no questions will be asked.

Did anyone see where Carnival has canceled European cruises for 2009?

Monica mentioned that a week or so ago (although it may have been in a PM and not a post). They pulled their ship from the Baltic cruises and are moving it to the Caribbean (the Liberty, I think it was).
