Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

I know for me with 25 Disney Cruises under my belt, that for the most part I have been able to save alot more in the long run by booking on the first day when the cruises are announced than by waiting because generally for inaugural cruises, the prices have not dropped.

Now, with that said, there have been a couple of times that they have dropped the prices at the end, but in the long run, I figure I have saved alot more money rather than waiting to book.

In my case, I am usually kicking myself for not having booked another dummy date when I was on the ship for a future cruise which I haven't actually booked yet. Now, I always try to pick a dummy date and book onboard and get the 10% plus onboard credit so I can maximize my $$ and go on more cruises!

I guess I am just hooked on DCL......

We have always just booked as soon as we heard about a cruise we really wanted and figured out how to pay later. :rotfl: Always have used the same travel agent but since she has cut her hours down so much and moved away am thinking about other options. This will be our first vacation in years that we don't already have another trip either reserved or planned:eek: What is this about dummy dates? And I had requested a quote from Disney Unlimited but never heard from them  Would love to be on this cruise and planning for the next:woohoo:

A dummy date is a cruise booked that you don't intend to take, but intentionally plan to transfer to a date/cruise that isn't available yet.

When we cruised last September the itineraries for Alaska had been released, but they weren't available for booking yet so we booked a cruise onboard in order to get the onboard credit, etc. and transferred the ressies when the Alaska dates became available a few days later. Since it's still within the cancelation period, the incentives carry over to the new cruise.

I hope I explained that okay.

Doing room# dance:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Great news for you! I ran off to check ours, we are still doing the no room assigment ( and no docs dance)!
We are getting harrassed by Disney for our flight details though - we are travelling by train.

Well I ordered the space bags and was griping to hubby that it's taking over a week for them to arrive. He responds with what do I expect they're coming from space. I'm beginning to think they do come from space.

I was at Bed Bath and Beyond; they don't carry the travel one that you can burp out the air.

For birthday/mother's day combo, I'm getting an ipad, which I hope to use on the cruise. It is still in China! and taking forever to get here. I wanted to spend time getting to know it before the cruise so I can communicate mostly via email to family while on the cruise.

Went to DCL to look at excursions yet again. Finally the Charming Copenhagen was not red! but apparently only 2 spots were available and I need 3. But the site worked just fine.

Happy Packing!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one still waiting on my space bags. I even emailed them and still haven't heard anything. I ordered mine on the 7th.

We are going but doing the Disney pre-cruise trip to Cantebury and Leeds Castle. I don't know if this helps you or not. Sue

Oh that's nice, but I think I'll just do it on my own. I expect Chuck will end up going with me if I bribe him with a pub lunch!:drinking1

I went to walmart and got the kind that you roll up to burp out the air. I hope they work as well as te ones you have ordered.

Coldwater Creek Outlet online is having a sale. Everything is an additional 40% off the sale price.

I just bought a black knit travel skirt for $20 and a couple other things.

Plus, if you spend $50, you get $25 off with this offer code WHH3264

Just trying to do my part and help everyone spend more money! :rotfl:

Sorry there are only two spots on Charming Copenhagen, I cancelled because Jamie and I are doing the Segway tour instead.

However, I would go ahead and take the two spots and then when you get on the ship go to the shore excursion desk. I am pretty sure they would be able to add one more on for you. If not, they will probably let you cancel. I've done that before and it hasn't been a problem.

What night is villians night again? Sorry, but a fellow cruiser (who doesn't get on the boards) goes all out for these things and he didn't know about villians night.

He wants to be in the know.....

Is anyone bringing costumes for the kids? Haven't found villans that my daughters want to emulate, so wondering about princesses, etc. Anyone planning to dress up for character meets, etc.?

My daughter is bringing her pirate costume from Halloween but not a Princess dress. She is bringing a princess dress for her American girl doll.

Thanks will look back into that. I'm torn between charming and then going to the 2 castles.

Don't forget, it's us doing the segway with you in the afternoon!

I'm just trying to maximize our day with the kids in the morning... I am a little nervous to make sure we get back on time; let me know if you change your plans. I am going with the safety in numbers thought in getting back to the ship; easier to pressure the guide to get us back on time.

Yep, it's him. He emailed me and wanted to get "in the know". We should make up some "special night" for him and then he could be the only one dressed up....now that would be :rotfl::rotfl:

As fun loving as I am I could not do that, he put too much of his heart and soul into it.

Ok, here is an incredibly dumb question :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I am flying Continental from Cleveland to Newark to Heathrow. The website states that first bag is free when flying to and from Europe. But I am first flying to a US city as my connecting flight (and only because they cut the direct flight from here!!)

So my question... is that first bag free?? Or... still have the baggage fee because I fly to a US city first?

Anyone??

Debbie

Your whole trip is an international trip so you should be good for the free bag.
