Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

I've been lurking since January. I've been to this thread, the magnets and the fish extenders. Who knew there was soooooo much more going on behind the scenes. And I thought just planning the trip was great. Haven't posted cause haven't had anything to add. Not even close to the information being shared. :banana

Welcome! Tell us about yourself.......

Welcome! Is this your first Disney Cruise?

Is today the next big excursion reservation date? Or did I miss it? Not changing ours at this point just curious if the next group has had a chance at the reservations. Got an e-mail from our TA regarding the early departure from Stockholm:laughing: Glad I'm on this board so I can get up to the minute information:woohoo:

Another rainy, windy, cold day here!

29th March was the date that us bums who have never cruised with Disney before could make reservations. ;) Palo brunches were long gone by then although there were a few dinners available for the first night and one other. I did book the Helsinki and Finnish food tasting excursion though (although the morning tour was also booked up so I had to go for the afternoon). :thumbsup2

Welcome to the boards!

Count down 13 days until Mom surprises Dad with their anniversary cruise to the Baltics. Hope he can pack fast:rotfl2: as we leave on June 9th. He's mentioned a few times over the past year how he'd love to travel to the British Isles. Mom just smiles and says "I think that would be a great idea." So looking forward to spending 10 days after the cruise in the British Isles.

I called DCL last Friday about currency exchange. As long as you have "money in hand" guest services can help you. No "credit" added to your KTTW card or use of credit cards to exchange currency while on board. KTTW is for Disney excursions and items bought on board. The crew member mentioned if using a credit card, the ATMs, post office, and tourist offices are readily avail near the ports.

Happy Planning
Heidi

This will be our 3rd cruise. The first 2 were to the Bahamas at Christmas time 3 years apart. Since this will be our first trip overseas and we didn't discover this site soon enough we've booked our excursions with Disney. We're doing the Oslo walking tour with City hall; City highlights and open air history museum, Berlin Past and present, Evening canal boat ride, Catherines Palace, Helsinki, Porvoo and stean train and royal palace and waterways,

We brought Sid home yesterday afternoon!!!!

Is that the Oslo Nordic walking tour? We are also doing that and didn't see anyone else mention that they had signed up for it. It should be fun....and maybe will burn some of those cruise ship food calories!

Thanks to this site, I've picked up some great ideas for organizing our stateroom--including the shoe hanger idea. (We got a fairly lightweight and inexpensive one at Target). But--which door do you hang it from? If the back of the stateroom door, will it close with over the door top hooks? (Otherwise, I guess one of the bathroom doors will have to do--or is there something else? We may even hook it to a hanger in the closet, but then that takes up limited closed space). Thanks!

We are booked for the 8:45 royal palace and waterways in Stockholm, is that the one you are on also?

Good question! I hadn't thought about which door to use. I still wanna get one of those, Target here I come!

Anyone else get a nice surprise in their email from DCL?? Got all excited till I read it and realized that it was only advertising their Formal rentals and gifts.

Regarding the shoe hangar, I hang mine over the bathroom door. I hang it on the outside, in case you need something while someone is inside using the facilities! :rotfl:

Same for us.

We also have some strong suction cups, the type with a leaver to create a vacuum, with hooks. These we attach to the wall to hang lanyards, etc. on.
