Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Hi Everyone

We got our Christmas decorations up last weekend, it felt a bit early but our new baby is due at the end of the week and I was kinda hoping it would be early! Can hardly move now!

Had some good news on the finance front, my mum & dad are cashing in an insurance they'd forgotten about and plans to split it between the children so with any luck this will tip the balance to us being able to cruise :cool1:

Still depends on the exchange rate and how long our old battered car hangs on but looks way more likely now!

Hope you're all getting on ok. It's getting closer and closer now - we'll being relying on you for excursion info etc as with a newborn I can't imagine we'll have as much time for research as we'd like.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's holiday decorations. Ours are very small and modest as we'll be busy enough with the baby without having to take down tons of decorations.

Kit

Good luck with the new bundle of joy!!!! Hope everything goes smoothly and can't wait to see pics of your new addition.

We're back home from WDW. Had a great trip. Constantly on the go though.

Emily - we are looking at Martin Luther King weekend but have no plans set so if that is not good for you then let me know. Brent wants to come and do the Space Center so we thought we could do that on Sunday and then head home. it's no problem to come any weekend during January. the 1st and 2nd weekend in Febuary are not good for us but ok after that. Pick one and let us know. Bill is looking forward to bringing home a couple of gallons of stew from Gibson's!:thumbsup2

I'm trying to find out for sure when we might be going. We're trying to go down for the next Vinylmation release and artist signing. It will be sometime in January, I just haven't seen a set date yet. Hopefully I'll know soon. I'll definitely keep you posted.

Wow ... I can't believe that in 6 months tomorrow, I will be leaving for England. Where has the time gone.

I can't remember if this has been discussed or not, but is anyone interested in doing a Secret Mickey gift exchange? We did this on the Panama Eastbound and it was fun. I would be willing to help organize this if people would like. I believe on the EB Panama there was a $20 or $25 limit. You give your gifts out during the cruise and save the last one for a meet and greet where we get to find out who our Secret Mickey is. I would need someone to help out, as it I would like to partake as well.

Let's discuss it, and we can decide if we would like to go-ahead.

I have not planned this in the past, just know that it was fun. If anyone has some guidelines they have used in the past, let me know.

Take care!

Hope all who are heading to the world over the holidays has a great time!

Just seen this on the Disney Blog:

Hey Disney Parks Blog Readers! Today I have really exciting news; there is a brand new stage spectacular heading to the Disney Magic in 2010.

The show is called “Villains Tonight!” and it is the first full-scale musical production dedicated to the Disney villains. The show is a family-friendly comedy that places our famous evil-doers in some irreverent funny moments.

“Villains Tonight!” will premiere during the March 27 voyage aboard the Disney Magic and debut on the Disney Dream in early 2011.

Sounds like it could be fun. :)

MJ~ Secret Mickey sounds great. Would this be in addition to FE gifties?
Would there be an adt and kid group? I could possibly help with this.
I have officially started my FEs! Lots of cutting involved, very happy to have my Cricut!
We will be in London in 6 months!:cool1:

This was fun on the Eastbound PC. It was most fun when I started getting my gifts back, card and all, so I knew who my Secret Mickey was. It wasn't until the final gift get together that he figured out that he was re gifting gifts back to the original giver. Good thing I was giving him things that I liked.

I think that the 3 of us will participate. Laura has some good ideas / suggestions about the Secret Mickey. When she's not so busy with work she will get back on the DIS.

Katie and Laura worked over Thanksgiving and finished our FE gifts. Laura has been so busy, I think she saw this as her only opportunity to get them done.

I've only done Secret Mickey once, on the 2008 EB repo. We limited it to adults only, but we could set one up for kids as well! We did it in addition to the FE gifts. Gifts were meant to be small. Can do as many as you like, just keep it to the total money spent limit. I did most of my shopping at the dollar store, with one big gift for around $15.00.

I was thinking that we could have the Secret unveiling on the 22nd, the sea day after Stockholm.

Sounds like a plan ... I think I totally fooled my SM when I had the head waiter deliver a gift at dinner time. Took some work to figure out which dining rotation she was on, but it was fun! She said she cracked up when the waiter stopped by with a present for her.

How many gifts is everyone making :confused3

I know what I want to get .. just have to order it. Figure I have a few months.

I`m still in the early stages of scrapbooking, so I`m not that creative yet :cutie:

Morning!
I asked a couple of weeks ago and we were up to 55 cabins. I am making one per cabin unless there's two families in there (sisters or friends sharing a room, etc) and then they each will get one. I have enough supplies for 100 and hope to be able to give some to the cms. and then we're just going to put some party bags together for the kids.
Bill, I would really have mixwd feelings about the regifting! But like you said at least you liked the things.
Banana and I will participate in SM but the boys probably wont.
MJ just let me know what I can do to help.

Katie and several other kids participated in 2008 and it was fun.
One suggestion would be to spread your gifts out over the cruise.
I tried to give a little something almost every day.
Katies SM had several gifts for her but gave them all one day at the beginning of the cruise and that was not as much fun for her. Much of the fun is the anticipation of a little something, this also keeps you trying to figure out who your SM is. It's also fun trying not to get caught while delivering your SM gifts.

We too are looking at a FE gift for each room not just those in the FE exchange. On the 2008 PC repo it was so much fun to come home and have a little something on your door or in your FE that we thought we would just do something for everyone on the thread.

The regifting was funny because we knew that he was going to get caught at the final gift exchange. And he did come up with a few new items to throw in.

Hey everyone! Getting excited?

We just got back from Disney on Tuesday. We went on the Norway ride and said, "Hey, next time we'll be in the real Norway!" :)

I can't remember (since the board keeps changing my settings and I can't post at times) if I said we'd (our cabin) do the FE exchange or not. I see that we said we are up to 55, that's cabins, not people, right? Trying to get too much stuff over there is going to be tough, but I probably need to start now if I am going to make it!

Hope everyone is well.
