Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Just Curious how much is a $h!tload....:rotfl2::rotfl2::thumbsup2

Thank God for DVC on our end.... :thumbsup2:worship:

Yes, we are using DVC points for the cruise, too. Just need money for the airfare, excursions, hotels, etc. I have a special fund going for that!

We are planning to visit friends in England after the cruise. I would love to stay a week in England after. Probably fly into Gatwick the day before, just one day.

I think most of us are hoping for lower prices but......:confused3
We're going in a downgraded cabin and doing tours on our own except for St. Petersburg to save money. Am waiting for airfare to drop in price to help that cost.

Yes, we are in an oceanview stateroom. We haven't cruised without a verandah, but that was mostly because we had Patrick with us and we needed to spend a lot of "down" time in the room. Since it's only Chuck and I we figure we will be out most of the time!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:Party!!

We have done two Panama Canal transits and six in the Caribbean with Disney. We love the Disney Cruise Line, but I can't believe how much more expensive this is .. not to mention what the air may cost. I wonder if they realize how many people they've already lost given the cost and how many more they may yet lose. We have two Wonder cruises booked for next summer as a fallback, but they don't compare to the Baltic. I know I should have transferred the ressie to a placeholder for the new ships, but hate to admit that it's just not feasible. Sigh.

one of my fellow cruisers is going on the Northern Capitals cruise with us next year, and she said she had compared other cruiselines to Disney. She said it sounded cheaper at first, but since she has children, it came up to be much more because of the family accomodations with Disney.

I know Europe is expensive, though. I am not sure what we will be doing for excursions, but there's no getting out of the flight! Unless we swim!

How many do we have for FE gift exchange? I thought of a great and unusual and USEFUL gift, but it needs to be ordered. I know I have plenty of time, but.......:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Right now I'll say I'm in, but that could always change as things get closer to the cruise.

I'm planning on 100 cabins and about 100 kids by the time we cruise. Any more and I will need more FE gifts!

:scared1:Hello Everyone, Count me in as well. Money is tight for everyone and despite the economy I am determined, like the rest of you, to keep my reservation. I just feel that if I dont take the trip now when will I take it. I have never been to Europe and I figure I can make that dream trip come true while I still have an income to pay for it (Even if I have to do it in monthly installments) . My comfort level on my job was dismissed when our governor introduced furlough days and a 15 % pay cut :confused3. No whining here though... life for me goes on....because it has to. So with all of that, there is a company called Red October that a travel agent told me about for Berlin I believe. Another company is called Travel Bound and they book shore excursions for cruise passengers. I have never used either company before. But I can tell you that my AAA travel agent uses them all of the time and says that they are a great company. They offer hotels, shore excursions, transfers etc. I will post the website tomorrow but it is not travelbound.com that is a different company. Well I think I have said enough. Keep hope alive ! I hope I have not offended anyone:scared1:, if I have please accept my sincerest apologies. :wizard:

I will do FE also.......just hope it's not over 120 as it was on the PC cruise! :scared1:

FE are fun, yet due to the travel involved and baggage restrictions etc etc keeping ti simple is the best. To me it is the thought.

Right now I'm thinking of doing some sort of door magnet, whether it be our logo or something else I come up with I haven't decided. I figured magnets are small and easy to fit luggage. They can just slide in a pocket somewhere or you can just pack it in the fish extender itself.

Magnets are my favorite thing to receive! I just love coming back to my stateroom and finding new ones on the door. If I knew how to make them, I'd do that myself.

I've never actually done them before, but I'm either going to try the printable magnet sheets and print several to a page and cut them out or find something and stick a magnet to the back of it.

Yes, the idea I have for a FE is light and easy to pack too, but it will all depend on how many of us are on the exchange! I DO need some space for clothes!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I usually use magnetic computer sheets, but I know there are several websites that will make magnets for you in whatever style and personalize them for almost the same price as making them yourself, when you consider ink and magnetic sheets.

:grouphug: If anyone is planning to do shore excursions on their own, please let me know, because my DH and I would join you. I think we WILL do Disney shore excursions in St. Petersburg for sure, but as for the rest, I know there are excursion hop on and hop off buses available, and they are very good.
My son, Mike, and I did that in Cadiz when we did the transatlantic.

Also, we have done them in Paris, London, York, Stratford upon Avon, Bath, Oxford, and a couple of other places I can't think of right now.
