Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

I'm crossing my fingers for you too!:yay: I guess we are just going to stick with the palace and waterway tour for the morning in Stockholm. I don't think we will have time for anything else now.

I couldn't help myself and started putting some clothes in a big storage tub that I want to take:rotfl: Husband may start wondering where all his clothes are disappearing to:lmao: It makes me feel like I'm doing something towards the cruise besides just waiting!

Marianne

I've started thinking about what I want to take, but I'm no where near that point yet. I've got to take my formal dress in to have the zipper repaired on it, but my dress shop said that could wait till May and after prom season.

I've started hanging clothes for the cruise in a corner of my closet. I'm doing the same for DD. DH is on his own with packing. I also have a small box in the corner of my room with various misc. things for the cruise: lanyards, DD pin trading kit, highlighters, etc. Also, I have a list of other things to pack like binoculars, DD swim goggles, etc. DD and I are going shopping today for shoes for the cruise. She's outgrown her summer sandles and I can always find something I like in the shoe department.

Like you folks i want to get going. I have been so focused on this wonderful trip I almost forgot to get a rental car when I head to SF for the opening day of the SF Giants on the 9th. Leaving DH and our wonderful/spoiled long hair dachsund at home. Guess when I get back from CA the second week of April I will begin to work on what to bring. DS gives me a bad time because I insist that we pack enough so I don't have to do laundry while on the ship. :laundy:Since it is just two of us it has worked in the past. The weather in South East VA is beautiful today!

It's hard not to find a pair of shoes, it's just that I don't need another pair of shoes.:lmao:

Thanks for doing that. I was looking around on facebook just yesterday to see if someone had started a group.

We're doing the palace and waterway tour also. Guess we're lucky we choose this one since the change in departure time did not effect us so I'm not as upset as those it did. I think we'll enjoy our tour and plan on eating lunch at Topsiders out on the back deck and watch Stockholm faint away. You're ahead of the game with packing - I thinking about what to take but I'm hoping my diet and excercise plan gets me into one or two items that are on the borderline!:rotfl2:

Me too! We looked at the recent kids for free deal (we have a 16 yr old and a 9 yr old coming on this trip)--but since we booked in 10/08, have ship credits and the prices have gone up, plus the penalty for cancellation, it doesn't work out. Guess we'll hope for an upgrade from our Cat 9! (And I sure wouldn't want to go back through the hassle of booking excursions--we ended up with quite a variety of things---on our own, Disney trips and private tours--no Palo (eh), and a couple of spa things. Heck, I'll just be happy to be there!

Today or tomorrow is the last day to purchase Disney Paris admission tickets with a 15% discount. Adults are $71 and children 3 -11 are $62 with the discount for 2 parks in 1 day. Go directly to the Disney Paris website to purchase them.

Thanks for the info! Are you going before or after the cruise? We are going to be there before:woohoo:

Okay...I think I have Stockholm figured out. I do have a question out on Cruise Critic about timing and an email to the Stockholm Tourist Board asking if you can buy the 24hr TravelCard at the port. My plan is to be at the Vasa Museum when they open @ 8:30. Spend some there and take the ferry across to the Gamla Stan. Rick Steve's has a walking tour in his book that starts the the Royal Place and ends at the ferry dock. I figure we would do the walk in reverse. Hopefully see some of the changing of the guard and then head back to the ship. Yeah...one down and 3 more to go that I have to plan myself plus London.

We are thinking of the same thing since our time has been shortened so much. Let us know what you find out. I have a morning DCL excursion for back up but would rather DIY. Thanks! :flower3:

When is the cutoff for cancelling DCL shore excursions? We have the morning tour but not sure if we still want to do that since the time has been shortened. Just wondering when we HAVE to have our minds made up (like that's ever gonna really happen:laughing:)
