We’re booked for the 8/30-9/6 cruise next year. I know Alesund isn’t within the Arctic Circle, but given that the lights can sometimes be seen in September at that latitude, and that the open water is away from city lights, I was curious if anyone has been able to see the northern lights from the Magic in years past.

We were just there same dates as you but this year and sadly we weren't able to see anything.

It's unlikely, but not impossible. I was just in Oslo (so farther south than Alesund) but you need both darkness and a clear night (we got one but not the other). I was hoping to see something on our cruise in 2018, but I was so tired that I wasn't up in the middle of night when it was dark. I hope you get to see them, though. :)

Unfortunately, Northern Lights are typically not visible during the summer months, which is when Disney sails in those areas.
