Northern Exposure on Prime

I have never watched any of this originally, but it gets great nostalgia reviews. I am about 4 episodes in now and some of it seems very dated which I expected but I'm not sure if I'll continue. Two old geezers drooling over an 18 year old is icky but I want to give it a chance. Did you watch it originally? Any plans to watch it?

loved it! it gets better as it goes on. so many quirky characters come and go-i esp. love adam arkin in it.

I watched it in reruns in the early 2000's, maybe on A&E. I enjoyed it at the time, but am sure parts would seem cringey at a rewatch nearly 30 years after it was released...but that's pretty much the case for everything.

I remember I enjoyed watching when it was first on. It is one of those shows I have been hoping to see again some time to see what I thought of it now. Picket Fences is another one.

Loved it when it first came out and I love rewatching it. It is definitely a quirky show.

I will add that it's clean, not like tv shows now where suddenly you would be excuse to be thinking that you are watching a porn for no specific storyline reasons...

I'm really enjoying watching it. Shows (and movies) being "dated" I truly love. Getting to glimpse an earlier time is wonderful. Love TV shows from the '50's and '60's because they are "dated".

So funny to see this thread. I never, ever watched Northern Exposure, but got sucked into a weird random episode tonight as I was searching for the Emmy pre-show.
Now I want to start from the beginning.

I watched it. It got really strange after Rob Morrow was no longer a regular. They threw in a wrinkle into why he wasn't there every episode, but it was rather odd.

Especially loved "Chris in the Morning!"

And, loved the series finale scenes and song - Our Town. A great ending.

DW and I were rewatching My Big Fat Greek Wedding the other day and John Corbett reminded us of how much we loved Northern Exposure (until Rob Morrow left). It hasn't been on streaming or DVD forever because they couldn't clear the music rights. We'll watch it regardless, but for those who are watching, have they taken out the original music and added generic music?

I watched it when it originally aired, loved it and its quirkiness. Started watching it on prime last week, happy that it’s finally airing again.
