It has definitely taught me a lesson.... always stick with our one verandah/one inside room configuration! I'm pretty positive that had we booked a verandah originally- it would be cheaper than it is now (since we booked it the day the dates came out) and then we'd be saving money on the kiddos. But nooooooooo, this one time I had to veer from our regular choice of rooms trying to go cheaper.

Just got a $1578 refund on this cruise. DH & I are in an inside room with our two DD's and inlaws are across the hall in a verandah room. I called Disney and was able to move the kids over to the inlaws room. Now that refund will be nice to pay off the LA-repo cruise and start paying for excursions.


Thanks bibbidibobbidi! Your post got me thinking about it and it was definitely worth an hour on the phone to get the information and do it.

We were able to use the KSF promo and save a bit. We have the same room and ended up saving about $130, once the lost OBC was taken into account. It isn't huge, but hey, its something! I was also able to apply the onboard booking discount and OBC to a 3 night Dream cruise we had booked in November, which saved about $50 on that one and got me $100 credit. So, overall, it worked out to about $280 to our better to rebook. Since my TA at DU handled it all for me, it was a pretty painless way to save money. Glad they are releasing some discounts!

Oh yeah I'd definitely switch like that- even if it was only $50 saved. Every bit adds up and the OBC/discount can just be used on another cruise- either a dummy date to move in the future or like you did, immediately booking another cruise you actually intend on taking.

Is there a list for FE's for the Alaska portion of the cruise. I saw one for the repo but nothing for Vancouver to Alaska. I would like to be added to the list if there is one.

Since DH and I live near the San Francisco Bay Area, we passed up on the repo cruise (didn't think it made sense to fly down to LA, then cruise up to our neck of the woods for an extra week's vacation I don't have time for)...

but I would definitely want to add us on the Fish Extenders list! Is there someone maintaining the list for this cruise?

yeah, I don't think I'd do that either. I mean say a cruise was going to port for 2 days at Galveston- I wouldn't want to drive or fly to LA or Orlando just to come back to my neck of the woods. LOL (well we don't live there in Galveston- but it's just a few hours drive which is nothing to us Texans. LOL)
