North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Just a quick FYI....the government fees & taxes portion of this cruise went up...I noticed that for us ours went up by $15.86.

Hi All,
Been busy at work so haven't seen the boards much :surfweb:.

BUT!!! I booked our flights for the B2B about an hour ago :yay:, :woohoo:. :dance3:.
Depart DC (IAD) to Long Beach, CA. on the 23 April 2011(Easter weekend :littleangel:: for those of you who didn't know :scared1:, book early).
With a return departing Vancouver at 12:00 on the 10 of May 2011.
Was able to use FFM (Delta).
Have tenitive reservations at the Camalot Inn accross the street from DL
Did not want to use DVC points (since the went up) and $400.00 a night to sleep, just didn't seem worth it.

Back to page one :wizard:.
Have a nice day to all :flower3:,

:confused3 Hi All,
I guess I'm the only one that has a dull life, but!! on the 4th of july will be at WDW thru the 15 of july :yay:  :cheer2:... 4days at Old Key West and than a week in the tree houses with the grand children....
and now we can go to page one..

have a great week,
gg

I just noticed the DCL website shows only 3 Fairmont hotels for Vancouver. We're planning to stay at Marriott on points, so this means we're gonna have to lug our own luggage to the pier/terminal, eh? Bummer! :headache:

And apparently the two Marriotts near the pier are already booked?! This trip is not looking good.

Any other insight?
Gayle

:cool1:Happy Birthday Jenn!:cool1:

Hope you have a WONDERful day:goodvibes

Hi everyone,
Sorry have been absent from the board for a while as just returned from the NCL Baltic cruise just a couple of days ago.

My husband is concerned that the weather may be too cold to enjoy in April or May and would welcome any advice that you can give us.

So want to do this but it is not cheap with the transatlantic flights also and do not want to waste the money.

Worried about the weather in Vancouver or up in Alaska at that time of year? And what do you consider "too cold"? That is a very subjective term. I've been to Splash Mountain in Florida and loving the no line ups for it while watching the staff being wrapped up in parkas that I wouldn't bring out until December/January.

More than likely it won't be t-shirt and shorts weather in Alaska (Vancouver no problem) but probably just light sweaters or hoodies. At least for me.

Ken -I'm here cuz you told me to be. Now what  I perfer my answer back on the normal thread :rotfl2:

havent been on this thread in a while i see that we are on page 4 we need a bump. before the repo cruise im staying 2 nights at disneyland, but i have no idea what i want to do after the alaska cruise. do i go home, stay in vancouver for a night. go to seattle for a night:confused3 dont even know what airport i will be flying from philly is 45 minutes away but doesnt have no direct flights from vancouver to philly. newark is 2 hours away and has direct flights.

Good Morning Cruisers!

I need to thank you all for not being too chatty while I was away for a month! It did not take me all day to catch up! The Barcelona to Dover repo and the Baltic cruises were great! We were gone a long time, I feel like I lost the whole month of June!

We just made our pre-cruise reservations (flying into LA the day before and staying at the Clarion at San Pedro port), and post cruise reservations - staying 2 more nights in Vancouver at one of the Holiday Inns, and flying home from Vancouver - the ticket with split destinations was not as expensive as we thought it would be.

Have a great day all!

Hi Lynn

We too booked our flights for the cruise...thanks to Scott, we too found that the prices were not as bad as we thought...even with flying out of and into the world's most expensive airport (Toronto). We are staying 5 days at Disneyland before the cruise and will fly home right after the cruise.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Elaine - glad to hear you are happy with your flights. I know Scott was surprised that they were as reasonable as they were from here, he really thought we would be better off with 2 different tickets that we just did not show for the second leg of each, but the one ticket out of different airports was actually cheaper, and not that much more expensive than if we flew in and out of the same airport.

For all those in the hurricane path, stay safe!

Have a great day all!
