North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Okay, while we are on a B2B mind-set ... what are people thinking of doing while in port at Vancouver?

1) Enjoying time on an empty ship
2) Spending a few hours of free time in Vancouver
3) Visiting a specific exhibit / destination whil n Vancouver
4) Waiting to see what DCL excursions are offered in Vancouver

Go get a Japadog! :thumbsup2

Go get a Japadog!

Thanks for the tip! I checked their website - interesting! It *looks* like a hot dog with oriental toppings - is that correct? Their website is not very good, so I can't tell if they make their own *dog*, if it's beef, pork, or something different - perhaps local flavor, or Japanese content.

We're not sure if we will be staying in Vancouver (post cruse).

I think we will do a tour of the city.

Pork or Beef. or Turkey or veggie or Brats. Some locations have Kobe beef.

The one Woody recreated for me was made with chicken sausage, seaweed, mayo, terriki and onion (I think I got that right). Never would have thought how good that would taste. :thumbsup2

Any idea if they make the dog themselves ... versus a purveyor, or supplier? I will have to put that on my list for local food to experience! Thanks again for the tip!

No, but I know Mr & Mrs Woody did a lot of research about 'food cart' vendors in Canada. They have a lot more restrictions/requirements than we do in the USA. If they EVER come back from Europe I'm sure Woody could fill us in. :rotfl:While they aren't on this cruise, they are on the repo, so will be checking in there eventually.

Just off the May 5 Med cruise and was able to rebook this cruise onboard and save a bit. Interestingly, we are also doing the repo and when I checked that, I was better off staying with the price I already had. Seems the repo is really filling up!

We did the same thing a few weeks back! We re-booked Alaska at a lower rate and were able to keep the same room. The repo was better left alone, as was the Dream. I was intrigued with the 2 night cruise on the Wonder out on the West Coast just prior to the Dream in January. I should have checked the rates on that one. I was just curious. :rotfl2: Sometimes that get$ me into trouble!

--I thought that cruise was sold out? :confused3

Good Morning Cruisers!

Sounds like our severe weather from yesterday (tornado warnings and sightings) is headed east - stay safe everyone!

Have a great day all!

We were thinking of going... there are many rooms left! The cost of airfare is what "killed" the trip for us. We had wanted to make a whole week of celebrating... flying out to LA, taking the cruise, going to DL for a few days, then flying back to Orlando for the Inaugural Dream cruise, and back home!

If we did that we couldn't do this cruise. We're just looking at all the options. :goodvibes

Good Morning Cruisers!

We are find Georgie, but it looks like the same storm that hit us is making it's way eastward. It was kind of interesting watching the tornado on the TV's stations "sky cam" knowing that it was not hitting any property where it was. It disapated before getting near habitation.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning All. Missed the sunrise. It will be a sunny and very warm day here today.
Breakfast consists of coffee, vitamin tab and glucosamine. Well, maybe a cookie or two. Need to get a bunch done today before the Hawks hockey and Cubs baseball are on tv.

Less than a year to go for this cruise. I am ready.
Hope everyone has a great day

Good Morning Cruisers!

Beautiful here in Cheyenne! Sunny, warm, slight breeze - of course, that breeze got a bit strong yesterday evening (50 mph gusts) and foiled our weiner roast plans:lmao: We will try again today for that.

Have a great day all!

Any new updates on when to expect hotel & excursion offerings to be posted?

I thought I heard somewhere that DCL would be posting their excursion packages late this summer. There are so many companies out there who offer great excursions for other cruise ships i would think DCL would want to get a move on and publish something soon.

Might as well bump this up to page 1 again. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! BBQ yesterday, riding today and tomorrow. What could be better - - - a cruise of course!!!!
