North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

We will offer dog sled rides in WY.

Oooooo... a TOP!

And you just had some SNOW too! Maybe we could get in a practice run before next May! Pre-Meet at Scott and Lynn's place! We can help raise your new columns!!!

Hi everyone, I just finished my first post on the 4/27 repo thread, so I thought I would get started here too. We just returned from the EBTA and had a fabulous time and met some wonderful new friends. We were going to do the Pannama repo but we've already done that one. My husband wanted to go to Alaska, so here we are. We will be joining Jackie and Monica doing a B2B. We're very excited to make new friends on this cruise and B2B folks. Well I have 52 pages to read, so...
Cheers, Jennifer & Dennis

Snow here in Utah too! And it's cold. I need some warm weather.

Snow here in Utah too! And it's cold. I need some warm weather.

We went from 90" of snow, to 90 degrees of heat within a 60 day time frame ... only to hit the upper 60's / low 70's on the EB TransAtlantic. We returned home last week to the 70's, and it is supposed to be near 90 on Saturday. I'm confused, as we don't normally get socked with excessive snow, or premature heat (at least, not this early).

Good Morning Cruisers!

Happy Birthday Debbie!!!!

Still snow here also, we have had snow 2 nights this week - it melts by mid-day, bur the temps have only been in the 40's and we have had winds all week.

Have a great week all!

Figured I would check in with everyone, especially since we are under one year!!! I pop in every now and then to read but don't post often, which I'm determined to change. I've been playing with airfare even though it's still early trying to find the best way from Baltimore to Vancouver without breaking the bank and been playing with the hotels in Vancouver as well.

We're toying around with flying Southwest from Seattle to Philadelphia (flying to LA or Orange County for the REPO (B2B)). That would either mean driving across CA/US border (Vancouver to Seattle), or taking a train. If we take the train, we'd have to spend a night in Seattle, as the train only runs 2x per day. The first train leaves Vancouver before we arrive in port. The second train puts us in Seattle in the afternoon ... too late to catch a Southwest flight to PHL.

We also checked Alaska air ... thought they would be an option - but not so good for us here (PHL). Lots of layovers, and big $$$.

I thought I had read posts from a few who live in the NW ... about driving cross border (train was easier). What should we expect if we decide to drive cross border (travel time, hoops to jump through, etc)?
:confused3

The only problem I see with driving across the border is the rental car. You may end up spending more to drop off the car in the states. You may want to check out a shuttle service such as www.quickcoach.com If you were to use the shuttle today, the rates are $57 per adult, $26 per child 5-12 and $49 per student 13-17. These rates are from the pier to the Seattle airport. Hope this helps!

EXCELLENT - it sure is nice to be able to get useful information like this! Much appreciated!

It was fun! We upgraded at the port again and in St. Croix went to Buck Island for snorkeling.

Going back to the Caribbean in 5 weeks!!!

Tracy - great to see you on here!

One more week of work - then one week off before our European trip! It will be weird going on a cruise with no pirate costume and no formal wear! But I am really looking forward to that trip - then I can concentrate more on this trip!

Have a great week all!
